A through hole (4Ld) arranged in a color layer (4Lc) of a color filter has a slit shape whose longitudinal direction is identical to the orientation direction of a cylindrical lens (3a) constituting a lenticular lens (3). Similarly, a through hole (4Rd) arranged in a color layer (4Rc) of a color filter has a slit shape whose longitudinal direction is identical to the orientation direction of the cylindrical lens (3a) constituting the lenticular lens (3).     Abstract: A lateral electric field type liquid crystal display device includes a pixel electrode and a common electrode made with a transparent conductive film formed on different layers on a first substrate via an insulating film. Each pixel is divided into a first region and a second region. In the first region, the pixel electrode and the common electrode formed linearly substantially in parallel to each other rotate liquid crystal molecules in the region by a lateral electric field applied between the both electrodes. In the second region, at least the electrode on a lower layer side out of the pixel electrode and the common electrode is in a plan shape, and a part where the pixel electrode and the common electrode overlap with each other forms a storage capacitance.
