    Abstract: A self-contained breathing apparatus includes an air cylinder pressurized to about 5500 psi, wherein the air cylinder is compatible with infrastructure used in conjunction with the air cylinder. The self-contained breathing apparatus also includes a first regulator valve for reducing air pressure from the air cylinder to a predetermined level. A second regulator valve is also provided for reducing the air pressure from the predetermined level to a level suitable for use by an operator, wherein air is supplied from the second regulator valve to the operator via a mask. The self-contained breathing apparatus further includes a frame for supporting the air cylinder on the back of the operator. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    Abstract: A method, gateway device, computer and computer to program product for monitoring responder interaction with equipment and credentialing of a responder are provides. A gateway device includes a memory and a processor. The memory is configured to store responder credentials and equipment data. The processor is in communication with the memory and is configured to translate equipment data received from equipment in a first format according to a first protocol to a second format according to a second protocol, the translated equipment data to be relayed to a computer. The processor is also configured to register equipment data in the memory. The gateway device also includes a transceiver configured to receive the equipment data from external equipment, transmit responder credentials to the computer and transmit the translated equipment data to the computer.

    Abstract: A method and system for personal protective equipment, such as a respirator mask, having a nosecup that is removably coupled to the item of personal protective equipment by at least one of an electronics housing and at least one voicemitter. A respirator mask includes a frame including a voicemitter aperture, a voicemitter, and a nosecup removably coupled to the frame by a rotation of the voicemitter by a predetermined amount to removably lock the nosecup to the frame voicemitter aperture. The mask further includes electronics components, which are housed in an annular electronics housing located within the front portion of the mask body 14 and in contact with a front portion of the nosecup. The nosecup may further be removably coupled to the mask frame by coupling between the annular electronics housing and the mask frame.

    Abstract: A sealing valve is provided for a sensor that includes a sensing element and a sensor opening that exposes the sensor element. The sealing valve includes a housing that is configured to be mounted to the sensor such that an internal channel of the housing fluidly communicates with the sensor opening. The sealing valve includes a float element configured to float along a surface of the liquid. The float element is configured to move within the internal channel between an open position and a closed position. The float element is configured to close the sensor opening to the internal channel in the closed position. The sensor opening is open to the internal channel when the float element is in the open position. The float element is configured to rise with the surface of the liquid within the internal channel toward the closed position.
