Abstract: Systems and methods for the use of smart repeater (SMR) control information from a base station to an SMR to control aspects of SMR operation are disclosed herein. The SMR control information may control the operation of to either or both of an SMR synchronization signal block (SSB) beam sweep or an SMR channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) beam sweep. An SMR may report, to a base station, SMR capability information; receive, from the base station, SMR control information corresponding to the SMR capability information that includes a first portion configuring an SSB beam sweep and/or a second portion configuring a CSI-RS beam sweep; and perform, based on the SMR control information, one or both of the SMR SSB beam sweep and the SMR CSI-RS beam sweep. Systems and methods for signaling the SMR control information between the SMR and the base station are also provided.

Abstract: This disclosure describes the following enhancement to improve the PDCCH reliability: PDCCH aggregation and multi-beam PDCCH reception for a 5G wireless communication system. The disclosed techniques entail obtaining repeated PDCCH by processing a PDCCH-Config, ControlResourceSet, or SearchSpace configuration parameter including an information element (IE) indicating a number of consecutive slots in which the PDCCH is repeated. In another embodiment, a gNB generates the PDCCH-Config, ControlResourceSet, or SearchSpace configuration parameter for configuring a UE to receive the repeated PDCCH and employ the multi-beam PDCCH reception.

Abstract: A communication system provides reliable wideband communications with reduced power consumption in a user equipment (UE) receiver. A UE may include receiver circuitry to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal from a wireless network and output an analog baseband signal. The RF signal includes M copies of a duplicated signal in a frequency domain. The analog baseband signal includes the M copies of the duplicated signal uniformly offset from one another in the frequency domain by a bandwidth F and including a gap between adjacent copies. The UE further includes an anti-aliasing analog filter an analog to digital converter (ADC). The ADC samples an output of the anti-aliasing analog filter at a sampling frequency selected to obtain a digital baseband signal comprising a combined digital copy of the M copies of the duplicated signal folded over each other.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for multiplexing of uplink control information on uplink data channels in wireless communication. It may be determined that transmission of a plurality of physical uplink shared channels (PUSCHs) are scheduled. The transmission of the plurality of PUSCHs may overlap with transmission of an uplink control information (UCI). At most one of the plurality of PUSCHs on to which the UCI is multiplexed may be determined based on a Downlink Assignment Index (DAI) value. The plurality of PUSCHs may be set with no more than one PUSCH having the DAI value not equal to four. Thereafter, the determined PUSCH is transmitted with the UCI multiplexed on it.

Abstract: Techniques for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) operation with multiple transmission and reception point (multi-TRP) are disclosed. In some embodiments, determining PUCCH transmission repetition may include determining that an original PUCCH transmission overlaps a slot boundary between a first slot for PUCCH transmission and a second slot for PUCCH transmission, and configuring a PUCCH repetition of the original PUCCH transmission. The PUCCH repetition may include one or more symbols of the original PUCCH transmission and may be located in one or more slots other than the first slot and the second slot. The PUCCH repetition may be configured by a downlink control information (DCI) configuration that includes a physical downlink shared channel to hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement feedback (PDSCH-to-HARQ_feedback) timing indicator, a PUCCH repetition number field that configures a number of transmissions of the PUCCH repetition, or a PUCCH resource indicator field that configures a number of transmissions of the PUCCH repetition.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may perform random access to a base station in the context where propagation delay between the base station and the UE device is large. The UE device randomly selects a random access preamble from an available set of preambles. The UE device selects a time slot for transmission of the random access preamble based on a configured correspondence between allowable time slots and subsets of the available set. The UE device transmits the random access preamble to a base station in the selected time slot, with timing advance to compensate for a common delay. Thus, the base station, knowing the configured correspondence, is able to determine the time slot in which the random access preamble was transmitted. The UE device receives a random access response that has been addressed with a Random Access Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RA-RNTI).

Abstract: Methods to enhance the coverage of NR systems for coverage-limited wireless devices are disclosed. A serving base station may configure a coverage-limited UE with parameters for the UE to operate in a coverage enhancement mode through RRC signaling, DCI, or RAR grant. The UE may use the configuration parameters to determine whether to enter into the coverage enhancement mode when connecting and communicating with the serving base station. The configuration parameters may configure the UE to exploit both time diversity and frequency diversity to extend and enhance coverage when receiving PDSCH and PDCCH channels. The UE may use the configuration parameters to receive PDSCH and PCCCH that are coverage enhanced using time repetitions and frequency hopping. Advantageously, the base station may flexibly and dynamically configure the UE with coverage enhancement parameters to extend the coverage of the UE using time diversity and frequency diversity gains as the UE moves around.

The wireless device may perform downlink control channel candidate blind decoding during a monitoring occasion configured by the search space configured with control resources associated with multiple transmission reception points.
