One embodiment of the invention comprises an improved method for making a via structure for use in a printed circuit board (PCB). The via allows for the passage of a signal from one signal plane to another in the (PCB), and in so doing transgresses the power and ground planes between the signal plane. To minimize EM disturbance between the power and ground planes, signal loss due to signal return current, and via-to-via coupling, the via is shielded within two concentric cylinders, each coupled to one of the power and ground planes.

A method for capturing an image may include receiving a start command, determining whether one or more predefined conditions are satisfied, and capturing an image when the predefined conditions are satisfied. The start command and/or the predefined conditions may be dependent on an audible signal. The predefined conditions may include predetermined reception angles of the audible signal, ratios of foreground to background, and/or reception of a remote control signal. The method may also require that no visual feature is occluded. Individualized feedback may be provided which can direct a specific person within an image to correct a failed predefined condition. An apparatus and computer program product corresponding to the method are also provided.

A system and techniques to increase the redundancy (i.e., physical diversity and bandwidth) available to an IP network, thereby increasing the failure processing capability of IP networks. The techniques include pooling the resources of multiple networks together for mutual backup purposes to improve network reliability and employing methods to efficiently utilize both the intradomain and the interdomain redundancies provided by networks at low cost.

The method includes: obtaining system energy consumption of the system hardware resources; obtaining event information of a plurality of functional units into which the system hardware resources are divided, and mapping the event information to the respective virtual machines; and calculating energy consumption of the virtual machines according to a plurality of energy consumption coefficients corresponding to the plurality of functional units and according to the event information mapped to the functional units of the respective virtual machines.

A method for realizing route discovery in a network includes: classifying a level of a node in the network; receiving a route request packet from a node adjacent to the node; comparing a node level indicated by node level information contained in the received route request packet with the level of the node; updating, in a case where the level of the node is higher than the node level indicated by the node level information contained in the route request packet, the node level indicated by the node level information contained in the route request packet to be the level of the node; and forwarding the updated route request packet to other nodes adjacent to the node.

A housing containing a reservoir can be mounted to receive water from an outlet port of a humidifier system. A pump having a pump inlet hydraulically connected to the reservoir volume and a pump outlet adapted to connect to an inlet port on the humidifier system can be controlled to deliver water to the humidifier based on a control signal received at a processor. The reservoir can be flushed based on one or more of an elapsed operating time since the last flush and a total time since the last flush. Flushing can be performed using a re-fill port adapted to receive fresh water from an external water source and draining process that can include creating a siphoning action that causes the water to drain from the reservoir volume. Flow of fresh water into the re-fill port can also be controlled to maintain a proper working water level in the reservoir volume.
