Abstract: A photographic monopod includes an extendable shaft, a bracket for fixing a photographic device at a first end of the extendable shaft, and a grip at a second end of the extendable shaft. The grip is opposite to the first end of the extendable shaft. The photo graphic monopod further includes a shutter control switch for controlling a shutter of the photographic device, and a shaft extension sensor for sensing a degree to which the extendable shaft is extended. The photographic monopod additionally includes a logic circuit for receiving the degree to which the extendable shaft is extended from the shaft extension sensor and disabling a connection between the shutter control switch and the photographic device when the degree to which the extendable shaft is extended exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: A method, system and/or computer program product alters a computer resource while in a particular geolocation of a cloud computing environment. One or more processors detect that a geolocation of a computer resource has changed to a first geolocation within a cloud computing environment. In response to detecting that the geolocation of the computer resource has changed to the first geolocation within the cloud computing environment, the processor(s) retrieve a set of geolocation based resource policies for the first geolocation. The processor(s) then apply a selected set of one or more geolocation based resource policies from the set of geolocation based resource policies to alter the computer resource while in the first geolocation.

Abstract: A method generates and implements a real-time amelioration action for ameliorating an imminent collision between a self-driving vehicle (SDV) and an object. One or more processors detect that an imminent collision by a self-driving vehicle (SDV) is imminent with a confidence C1, and determine whether the SDV has an occupant of occupant type P with a confidence C2. One or more processors identify an object with which the imminent collision by the SDV is imminent with a confidence C3, and then generate and implement, based on C1, C2, C3, and P, a real-time amelioration action for ameliorating the imminent collision between the SDV and the object.

Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product pre-positions an aerial drone for a user. A model of a user is used as a basis for predicting a future task to be performed by the user at a future time and at a particular location. One or more processors identify sensor data that will be required by the user in order to perform the future task at the future time and at the particular location, where the sensor data is generated by one or more sensors on the aerial drone. A transmitter then transmits a signal to the aerial drone to pre-position the aerial drone at the particular location before the future time.

Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product controls operations of an aerial drone within a predetermined airspace. A drone controller device detects a presence of an aerial drone. The drone controller device and the aerial drone negotiate permission to fly within a predetermined airspace under a predefined aerial drone state. In response to successfully negotiating the permission, the drone controller device enables a drone on-board computer to operate the aerial drone within the predetermined airspace in accordance with the predefined aerial drone state.

Abstract: An aerial drone includes a pest sensor, an environmental sensor, a drone on-board computer, and a pest abatement mechanism. The pest sensor senses a pest based on emissions from the pest. The environmental sensor detects an environment of the pest. The drone on-board computer identifies a pest type of the pest based on the emission from the pest, and establishes a risk level posed by the presence of the pest based on the pest type and the environment of the pest. The pest abatement mechanism performs a pest abatement of the pest based on the pest type and the risk level posed by the presence of the pest.
