Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for grouping demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequences for uplink transmission without grant based on one or more of cross correlation of sequences, the cubic metric or peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In accordance with this technique, the power control for transmissions of DMRS can also be exploited to enhance sequence grouping. Features of the present disclosure may prepare a composite sequence that is generated by concatenating two base sequences. In this instance, the base station may provide UEs with a pool of base sequences. For transmission of DMRS, the UEs may select two base sequences that may be transmitted in two consecutive slots or two DMRS symbols in a slot. By allowing the UE to select two base sequences, the network may reduce the probability of a collision that may occur when two UEs select the same base sequence.

Abstract: A wireless device may receive a first synchronization signal block (SSB) in a radio frequency band of a first cell of a neighbor base station, and report a physical cell identifier (PCI) for the first cell to a serving base station. The serving base station may identify, based on the PCI report, whether a radio frequency band of the first SSB is in or off a synchronization raster, and determine whether to instruct the UE to report a global cell identifier (CGI) for the neighbor base station (e.g., CGI for the neighbor cell) based on the identification. The wireless device may identify CGI based system information obtained from the neighbor cell, system information obtained from a master cell associated with the neighbor base station, system information obtained from CGI broadcast from the neighbor cell, or system information requested from the neighbor cell using dedicated resources, based on the instruction.

Abstract: In an example, a method of wireless communication of a base station may include assigning, by the base station, one or more resources to a group comprising a plurality of UEs that includes a first UE. The method may include receiving, by the base station from the first UE, a message on the one or more assigned resources. The message may include a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled with a group identifier for the group comprising the plurality of UEs. The message may include an indication of a UE identifier for the first UE within the group. The message may include a DMRS, where the indication of the UE identifier is represented by a sequence of the DMRS.

Abstract: NPRACH suffers from false alarms in which a base station detects and cannot distinguish an NPRACH signal that is intended for a different base station. An NPRACH may include a cell specific frequency shift pattern over repetitions and/or a repetition level scrambling sequence that enables a base station to more accurately detect NPRACH. An apparatus generates an NPRACH signal comprising multiple repetitions, wherein each repetition comprises multiple symbol groups. The apparatus may apply a different frequency shift between repetitions of the NPRACH signal. The frequency shift may comprise a cell specific random frequency shift pattern applied over each repetition. The apparatus may apply a repetition level scrambling sequence to the NPRACH signal, wherein a single scrambling sequence is applied to a set of repetitions comprised in the NPRACH signal. The apparatus transmits the NPRACH to a serving cell.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a remote user equipment (UE) may generate a measurement report for discovery that includes a serving relay UE source Layer 2 (L2) identifier (ID), of a serving relay UE that serves the remote UE, and a candidate relay UE source L2 ID, for each candidate relay UE of a set of candidate relay UEs. The UE may transmit the measurement report. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium are provided. An example method may include transmitting, to one or more UEs including a second UE, a sidelink discovery message for a communication with a third UE. The example method may further include receiving, from the one or more UEs, a sidelink discovery response including information about a path with the third UE. The example method may further include establishing a sidelink connection with the second UE to relay the communication from the first UE to the third UE based, at least in part, on the information about the path between the second UE and the third UE.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage medium for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE) is provided. The UE receives an indication of one or more timers associated with a radio resource control (RRC) connection procedure with a base station via a relay. The UE transmits a request associated with an RRC connection to a second UE to be relayed to the base station and monitors for a response from the base station based on the one or more timers associated with the RRC connection procedure via the second UE as the relay.
