Abstract: A measurement device suitable to measure a force, pressure, or load applied by the muscular-skeletal system is disclosed. The measurement module includes a unitary circuit board that couples electronic circuitry to sensors. In one embodiment, the sensors are integrated in the unitary circuit board. Using more than one sensor allows the position of applied load by the muscular-skeletal system to be measured. In one embodiment, the sensors of a sensor array can be elastically compressible capacitors. A load plate can underlie the sensor array. Similarly, a load plate can overlie the load plate. Load plates are rigid structures for distributing a force, pressure, or load. The measurement device can include an articular surface for allowing movement of the muscular-skeletal system. A remote system can be in proximity to the measurement device. The remote system can receive, process, and display data from the measurement module in real-time.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for adjusting pressure locally acting on the skin. Said system includes a set of adjacent modules distributed so as to form a layer. Each module includes a cushion capable of changing shape and comprising a cavity, a valve, a tank, and a pressure sensor, wherein the cavity and the tank are in communication with each other by means of the valve, and the sensor is placed so as to sense pressure directly or indirectly acting on the cushion. The system also includes a feedback loop arranged such as to increase or decrease the change in the shape of the cushion on the basis of the pressure detected by the sensor. The system according to the invention can be built into a shoe so as to re-establish normal plantar pressure under the entire sole of the foot, which is particularly desirable for athletes or for patients suffering from diabetes mellitus or leprosy. It is also possible to incorporate the system according to the invention into a (bed or wheelchair) mattress so as to prevent decubitus ulcers in patients with neurological diseases (hemiplegia, paraplegia, tetraplegia, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and any other sensory and/or motor deficit diseases.

Abstract: A system for biomechanical analysis of user posture and automatic customized manufacture of bicycle parts includes a servo-assisted simulator having a handlebar, a saddle, pedal cranks, and actuators, a device detecting input data that includes a 3D scanner for automatically detecting the position of body segments of the user and the angular ranges therebetween and generating three-dimensional physical data units, an electronic platform detecting pressure data of the user, a pair of insoles detecting plantar pressure, a computer connected to the actuators and to the detection device, a memory unit storing optimized initial data and instantaneous data, software comparing the optimized initial data and the instantaneous data and generating final data of the characteristics of the main parts, a spatial representation device spatially representing the final data, and a device for immediate manufacture of the parts using 3D printers. Abstract: The present disclosure provides a provisional tibial prosthesis system for a set of prosthetic knee joints for implantation in a natural knee, the provisional tibial prosthesis system including a bearing component and a bearing support, the spacing of the bearing component from the bearing support is adjustable to allow for representation of a variety of different sized final tibial prostheses. In this system, only one provisional bearing component corresponding to each level of constraint is needed and shims are used to adjust the spacing of the bearing component from the bearing support. The shims are slidably insertable between the bearing component and the bearing support in an anterior/posterior direction to allow for adjustment of the spacing of the bearing component from the bearing support. The number of provisional components needed during knee surgery is reduced and adjustment of the system only requires the knee joint to be distracted by a distance equal to the height of a particular shim.
