Abstract:
A filter apparatus has a filter housing (1) accommodating at least one filter element (17) having an inner filter cavity (23) enclosed by a filter medium (27). The housing (1) contains an element holder (19) that interacts with the filter element (17) located in its functional position. The element holder (19) has a projecting accommodating part (43) with an outer configuration adapted to the shape of an opening (37) located at the end of the filter element (17) to be secured to the element holder (19). The accommodating part (43) fits through the opening (37) of the filter element (17) located in the functional position.
Abstract:
A filter for gravity-fed applications, having filter media with a hollow center, the filter being generally prone to a degradation or cessation in fluid flow due to air entrapment or air lock within the filter housing cavity, which develops during filtering. A diffuser element is introduced to pierce the entrapped air bubble, the diffuser element being an elongated structure connected to the filter housing top end cap and extending through the entrapped air bubble to the filter media.
Abstract:
A water treatment cartridge includes a base having a recess therein. One outlet is located in the recess in the base and at least one further outlet is located away from the recess in the base. The outlet located in the recess in the base may be surrounded by an annular wall which projects away from the base of the water treatment cartridge to cooperate with a hopper in which the cartridge is fitted. The outlets can be designed to restrict the flow of water through the cartridge independently of any hopper in which the cartridge is mounted.
Abstract:
A serviceable gas/liquid separator is provided. The gas/liquid separator has a cross-section with one long axis and one short axis, with an aspect ratio of at least 1.3. A preferred cross-section, is an elliptical cross-section. Assemblies in which the separator unit can be used, are provided. In addition methods of use and construction are provided.
Abstract:
An oil-filter device, in particular for a motor-vehicle internal combustion engine, includes a filter element and a cover region. An oil outlet, which is closed by a destructible single-use closure, is provided in the cover region of the oil-filter device.
Abstract:
A liquid filter assembly is provided. The assembly includes a liquid filter cartridge and a housing. The liquid filter cartridge, includes, among other things, first and second, opposite, end caps each having a central aperture therethrough. A seal arrangement including a radially directed seal is mounted on a seal support of the first end cap that projects away from the second end cap. The cartridge includes a seal mount configured to define a seal plane non-orthogonal to a central axis of the cartridge. The housing includes a filter head and a housing sidewall. The filter head includes a filter head having a body, a top cover and a bottom aperture opposite the top cover. The housing extends through the bottom aperture. The cartridge as described is installed in the housing, with an end cap radially sealed against a tube in a bottom of the housing.
Abstract:
A filter assembly is described that includes a unique seal configuration between a filter and a housing. The filter has a filter media that allows fluid to be filtered therethrough, and has an endplate with an opening that allows fluid to flow into or out of the filter media. The endplate has a main surface with an elliptical spud protruding outward from the main surface and surrounding the opening. An oval seal is disposed about an outer surface of the elliptical spud. The housing is releasably connected to the filter, and has a mounting component. The mounting component has an elliptical boss that mates with the elliptical spud and seals against the oval seal.
Abstract:
One embodiment is a filter assembly wherein the shape of the filter is a non-circular geometry. Other embodiments include unique apparatus, devices, systems, and methods to remove contaminates from a flow of fuel while at the same time providing a unique filter and filter assembly geometry. Further embodiments, forms, objects, features, advantages, aspects, and benefits of the present application shall become apparent from the detailed description and figures included herewith.
Abstract:
A filter element for removing material that is entrained in a gas stream comprising a wall of a filtration medium which defines a hollow space, for a gas stream to flow from the space through the wall. The filter element includes an end cap having an inlet tube extending into the hollow space for a gas stream to be supplied to the space, the inlet tube having a side wall extending between an upstream open end and a downstream open end. There is at least one opening in its side wall. The inlet tube has an upstream band, a middlestream band and a downstream band, the bands being axially adjacent to one another and non-overlapping. The bands have equal axial lengths of at least 5% of the length of the inlet tube, and are arranged such their planes are perpendicular to the axis of the inlet tube. The proportion of the area of the side wall that is open in the upstream band is smaller than that in the middlestream band, and the proportion of the area of the side wall that is open in the middlestream band is smaller than that in the downstream band.
