Abstract:
The attaching/removing workability of the collecting vessel of a conditioning apparatus with respect to a port block is increased. A primary-side port and a secondary-side port are formed in a port block 13, and a female screw part 27 that is screwed to a male screw part 23 is provided to the collecting vessel 24 that is mounted to the port block 13. An annular lock member 31 is mounted to the opening end of the collecting vessel 24 so as to be movable in the axial direction. A tongue piece 38 that presses the annular lock member 31 towards the outside in the axial direction of the collecting vessel 24 is provided to the inside of the annular lock member 31. A movable-side engagement part 41 that engages a fixed-side engagement part 42 of the port block 13 when the collecting vessel 24 is rotated to a position of fastening completion is provided to the annular lock member 31.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge assembly includes a fitting with a lid and a throat. The lid includes a handle and spring. The handle is configured to receive torque and linear force and translate these forces to the lid. The spring has a first and second catch disposed opposite ends. The spring is configured to mate with and fully reside within a lid groove in response to the first catch being drawn towards the second catch. The spring is configured to partially extend annularly outwardly from the lid groove in response to the first catch and the second catch being allowed to return to a biased position. The throat receives the lid and a throat groove disposed about the throat is configured to receive the extended portion of the spring partially extending from the lid groove. The lid is captured in response to the spring mating with the throat groove.
Abstract:
A filter element is provided with a snorkel that facilitates bleeding of air along the outside periphery of a tubular filter media pack to a bleed chamber contained within the filter element. This may be employed in fuel filtration applications during installation and removal of filter elements whereby air can be temporarily trapped in a housing containing the filter element. The snorkel thus vents the air along the outside of the filter element and then into a bleed chamber where it can be communicated to a standpipe having an isolated bleed passage.
Abstract:
A liquid filter cartridge is provided. Preferred seal arrangements are provided, to provide for preferred axial load conditions, with respect to one or more of the end caps of the cartridge. Some cartridge configurations provided include no core structure or outer liner structure therein, to support axial load. Assemblies using the cartridge, and methods of assembly and use, are provided. The liquid filter cartridge can be a serviceable cartridge, or it can be retained permanently in a housing.
Abstract:
A fluid filtering apparatus and method may include keyed components to ensure that a correct filter element is being installed into a filter base. Keyed arrangements may occur between a filter element and a filter housing, a filter and a filter base, and a filter base and a filter housing. A locking arrangement may be provided to prevent undesired loosening of a filter relative to a filter base. The filter base may include a torsion lock insert that engages lock detents of a filter to prevent the undesired loosening. An adaptor may be provided to provide the lock detents that interact with a torsion lock insert.
Abstract:
A draw latch retainer is used to secure a filter cartridge to a filter head. A cam actuated retainer extends from the head to engage a keeper in the top of the cartridge. Rotation of the cam draws the retainer and cartridge axially toward the head into an installed position. The retainer extends through an aperture in the upper portion of the cartridge to apply a retention force against the bottom side of the keeper. The keeper and upper portion of the cartridge supporting the keeper are configured to transmit the retaining force laterally across the top of the cartridge. A pair of axial conduits project from the cartridge and mount O-ring seals for implementing an axial sealing interface with passages in the head.
Abstract:
A filter element of a filter system for filtering fluids has a filter medium with end faces. Terminal bodies, one each, are connected to one of the end faces of the filter medium, respectively. A support body extends between the terminal bodies. A first terminal body is connected by a toothed connection to the support body for transmitting a torque from the first terminal body onto the support body and from the support body onto the first terminal body.
Abstract:
A filtering unit (10) comprising a casing (20) provided with at least one inlet (32), one outlet (33) and one support body (42) provided with abutment surfaces (44) adapted to removably support a filtering cartridge (50) contained within the casing (20) and adapted to divide the internal volume of the casing (20) into two chambers (21,22) respectively connected with the inlet (32) and the outlet (33) so as to filter the fluid flowing from the inlet (32) towards the outlet (33), the filtering cartridge (50) comprising at least one coupling element (55) configured to be snap-coupled to the support body (42) following a first axial translation for mutual approaching between the filtering cartridge (50) and the support body (42), whose distinctive characteristic lies in the fact that it comprises cam means (57,58) operating between the coupling element (55) and the support body (42) so as to radially bend the coupling element (55) in a release position for disengaging the coupling element (55) from the support element (42) following a further limited mutual axial translation between the filtering cartridge (50) and the support body (42), moving in the same direction with respect to the first approaching translation, the cam means (57,58) being configured so as to keep the coupling element (55) in release position following a slight mutual rotation between the filtering cartridge (50) and the support body (42).
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes a filter body, a removable filter cartridge, and a bypass valve with incinerable and non-incinerable portions. The bypass valve includes a valve seat and a movable valve closure element removable with the removable filter cartridge and incinerable. The bypass valve includes a return member remaining in the filter body. A method is provided for controlling bypass valve-opening threshold pressure.
Abstract:
Liquid filters comprising a housing having a removable cover, a liquid inlet, an outlet, a replaceable hollow cylindrical filter material insert, and a filter bypass valve comprising a valve seat arranged on the filter insert and a valve body that interacts with the valve seat and is biased in the closing direction. Two radially spaced closed sealing contours are provided between the valve seat and the valve body. At least one bypass channel, connecting the unfiltered and filtered side of the filter while bypassing the filter insert, passes through the valve seat between the sealing contours. The valve body is movably guided in the housing on a housing part, the two sealing contours are offset from each other in the axial direction, and the valve body has a corresponding conical or tapered or dome-like shape in the sealing area of the valve body that interacts with the sealing contours.
