Provided is a heat-shielding material including a substrate; a metal particle-containing layer which contains flat metal particles with a hexagonal shape or a circular shape; and a low refractive index layer with a refractive index of 1.45 or less, in which flat metal particles in which a principle planar surface of the flat metal particles is set with a planar orientation in a range of 0° to ±30° on average with respect to the other surface of the metal particle-containing layer are 50% by number or more of all the flat metal particles, the low refractive index layer is arranged on an uppermost surface on an indoor side when installing the heat-shielding material on a window glass, and the heat-shielding performance, visible light transmittance, and lightfastness in the heat-shielding material are excellent; and a window glass.

This present invention relates to the carbon nanotubes as composites with materials such as elastomers, thermosets and thermoplastics. A further feature of this invention relates to the development of a concentrate of carbon nanotubes with an elastomer wherein the concentrate can be further diluted with an elastomer and other polymers and fillers using conventional melt mixing equipment.

Abstract:
A composite formulation and electrical component are disclosed. The composite formulation includes a polymer matrix having at least 15% crystallinity and process-aid-treated copper-containing particles blended with the polymer matrix including higher aspect ratio particles and lower aspect ratio particles. The higher ratio particles and the lower ratio particles produce a decreased percolation threshold for the composite formulation when processed by extrusion or molding, the decreased percolation threshold being compared to a similar composition that fails to include the first particle and the second particles. The electrical component includes a composite product produced from the composite formulation and is selected from the group consisting of an antenna, electromagnetic interference shielding device, a connector housing, and combinations thereof.

A polylactic acid resin composition containing a polylactic acid resin, glass fibers having an average aspect ratio (average fiber length/average fiber diameter) of 5 or more, and a metallic pigment, wherein the glass fibers are contained in an amount of from 2 to 35 parts by mass, and the metallic pigment is contained in an amount of from 0.1 to 8 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the polylactic acid resin. Since the polylactic acid resin composition of the present invention has excellent moldability, and is capable of providing a molded article with high designability, including a transparent surface layer and an inner layer with a lamellar texture in the nashiji patterns, the polylactic acid resin composition can be suitably used in various industrial applications, such as daily sundries, household electric appliance parts, packaging materials for household electric appliance parts, and automobile parts.

It is an object of the present invention to provide zinc oxide particles which have excellent ultraviolet blocking performance and also excellent dispersibility, and therefore can be suitably used as an ultraviolet blocking agent for cosmetics. Provided are zinc oxide particles having a primary particle diameter of less than 0.1 μm, an aspect ratio of less than 2.5 and an oil absorption/BET specific surface area of 1.5 ml/100 m2 or less.

The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a core and a cover covering the core, wherein the cover comprises a polyurethane resin having a secondary or tertiary amine structure in a molecular chain thereof, the secondary or tertiary amine structure being cationized, and a layered silicate and/or an exfoliated product thereof, having an average aspect ratio of unit layers thereof ranging from 10 to 50.

A downhole tool member for hydrocarbon resource recovery, comprising a shaped body of a polyglycolic acid resin blended with an inorganic or organic short fiber reinforcement material, and having thickness reduction rate characteristics when held in water at 120° C., inclusive of: an initial thickness reduction rate (as an average for a holding period for 4 hours) which is at most 0.8 times that of a shaped body of the polyglycolic acid resin alone, and has a terminal thickness reduction rate (after the thickness decreases to 50% or less of an initial thickness) which is larger than 1.5 times the initial thickness reduction rate. As a result, it is possible to provide a downhole tool member, that is a temporary tool for formation or repair of downholes for recovery of hydrocarbon resources including oil and gas, or a part of the tool, which allows more accurate designing of collapse characteristics thereof.
