The invention relates to a two-component composition, including a component A, which includes at least one silane-functional polymer and at least one hardener or accelerator for epoxy resins, and a component B, which includes at least one aqueous emulsion of at least one epoxy resin. Two-component compositions according to the invention are suitable as adhesives, sealants or coatings.
Abstract:
A fastening composition for attaching two articles, comprising a mixture of an aerobic adhesive and a hydrophilic substance. A process for fixing an article to a substrate, includes the steps of initially preparing a fastening composition by mixing together a hydrophilic substance and an aerobic adhesive; applying a layer of the fastening composition to the article; and subsequently fixing the article to the substrate by pressing the layer of the fastening composition against the substrate. The aerobic adhesive in this layer hardens because of the moisture contained in the hydrophilic substance.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a curable composition useful as a contact adhesive which has a high rate of initial tack development, high tack strength, and long retention time of the developed tack. The curable composition includes an organic polymer (Q) containing a reactive silyl group, and a linear organic polymer (P) having a number average molecular weight larger than that of the polymer (Q) and having a reactive silyl group containing three hydrolyzable groups at only one terminal. The organic polymer (P) and the organic polymer (Q) are mixed at a mixing ratio (P):(Q), in terms of parts by weight, of 60:40 to 5:95.
Abstract:
Moisture-curable resin compositions comprising (a) a moisture-curable polymer having at least one hydrolysable silyl group; (b) a reactive modifier; (c) a catalyst for catalyzing the reaction between the moisture-curable polymer (a) and reactive modifier (b) under curing conditions; and cured compositions produced by contacting such resin compositions with water are disclosed. The moisture-curable resin composition is useful in the production of adhesives, including hot melt adhesives, primers, sealants, and coatings.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to polyamides that are crosslinkable in the presence of water having desirable properties including long open time, good adhesion and cold flexibility. Notably, the polyamides of the present invention are suitable for structural and semi-structural bonding applications utilizing a hot melt process, roll coater or bead extrusion process.
Abstract:
The present invention has its object to provide a curable composition which allows slight bleedout of a liquid compound to occur to the cured product and shows good curability and adhesiveness using a non-organotin catalyst, an amine compound, as a silanol condensation catalyst. The present invention relates to a non-organotin-based curable composition which comprises: (A) an organic polymer having a silicon-containing group capable of crosslinking by siloxane bond formation, and (B) a specific amidine compound and/or a guanidine compound having a melting point of not lower than 23° C., as a silanol condensation catalyst.
Abstract:
The present invention has its object to provide a pressure sensitive adhesive composition which can be applied using no organic solvent or using almost no organic solvent and which manifests excellent pressure sensitive adhesion characteristics. This object can be achieved by a pressure sensitive adhesive composition which comprises, as essential constituents, the following: (A) an oxyalkylene polymer containing 0.3 to 0.7 equivalent of a hydrolyzable silyl group in each molecule and having a number average molecular weight of 15,000 to 100,000 (hydrolyzable silyl group-containing polymer); (B) a tackifier resin; (C) a curing catalyst.
