Abstract:
When a drive shaft is in a non-drive state, a second drive rotor is in a non-engaged state with a driven rotor with respect to its own rotating direction. When the drive shaft is in a drive state, a rotating force of a first drive rotor is transmitted to the second drive rotor through an urging member. As a result, a power transmitting member revolves, and a centrifugal force arranges the power transmitting member at a second clamping position. The second drive rotor receives a reaction force from a driven rotor via the power transmitting member. As a result, the second drive rotor is relatively rotated in an opposite direction to a rotating direction of the first drive rotor with respect to the first drive rotor, against an urging force of the urging member. As a result, the first drive rotor is engaged with the driven rotor with respect to its own rotating direction. Accordingly, the clutch is stably operated.
Abstract:
An opening-and-closing drive device for an opening-and-closing member for a vehicle includes an electric driving source serving as a power source for opening and closing the opening-and-closing member, which is supported by a vehicle body so as to be opened and closed, an output portion connected to the electric driving source and transmitting a driving force generated by the electric driving source to the opening-and-closing member in order to open and close the opening-and-closing member via a connecting member, and a clutch mechanism provided on a power transmission path between the electric driving source and the output portion and including a viscous fluid for transmitting a power between the electric driving source and the output portion by viscosity.
Abstract:
The present invention is a door drop stop system designed to require a minimal amount of time and modification to install in an existing door system. It is effective with all overhead doors which employ a central axle; such overhead doors are in widespread use in residential, commercial, and vehicular applications. In addition, other configurations of the door drop stop system are effective with slab doors, bifold doors, and rollup doors. The present invention will reduce or eliminate property damage and personal injury resulting from a failure of a component of the door or its counterbalance system.
Abstract:
A time delay release mechanism has a brake actuator including an actuation member movable between engaged and released positions. The actuation member, when in the engaged position, operatively engages a fire barrier for preventing closure thereof. The actuation member, when in the released position, is operatively disengaged from the fire barrier such that the release mechanism does not prevent closure thereof. The brake actuator includes an actuation driver which, when receiving electrical power, moves the actuation member to the released position. A timer, when receiving electrical power or when power thereto is interrupted for a duration less than a predetermined time period, disengages from the actuation member allowing the actuation driver, when power thereto is initially interrupted, to move the actuation member to the engaged position. The timer engages the actuation member, when power to the timer is interrupted for a duration greater than the predetermined time period, to move the actuation member to the released position thereby overriding the actuation driver to allow closure of the fire barrier. The timer disengages from the actuation member when power to the timer is restored and the actuation driver retains the actuation member in the released position when power to the actuation driver is restored, thereby automatically resetting the brake actuator and timer.
Abstract:
The device is intended to cut-off the supply of electric power to a motor (4) automatically when this latter is locked rotationally under the action of a mechanical resistance. This device comprises balls (5) coupled for rotation with the motor (4) and displaceable under the action of the centrifugal force generated at the time of rotation of this motor, these balls (5) being in cooperating relation with an electric contact (9) in order to put the electric power supply of the motor (4) in circuit when this centrifugal force attains a certain threshold value and in order to put this supply out of circuit when this centrifugal force drops under the action of the mechanical resistance set up in opposition to the torque exerted by the motor.Utilization in particular in automatic devices for the control of opening and closing of garage doors.
Abstract:
An emergency bi-fold door closing prevention system includes a building having an access opening with an upper edge. A bi-fold door is hingedly mounted to the building wall and includes a plurality of panels each being laterally elongated. The plurality of panels includes a bottom panel having a bottom edge that is positionable adjacent to a floor surface to define a closed position. A safety line assembly is attached to and extends between the building wall adjacent to the upper edge and the bi-fold door adjacent to the bottom edge. The safety line has an extendable length. The length of the safety line assembly extends when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position below a threshold velocity. The length of the safety line assembly is inhibited from extending when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position above the threshold velocity.
Abstract:
A control device is used to move a pick-up truck tailgate. The control device comprises a first gear arrangement connected to a drive cup and a second gear arrangement that is connected to a motor for driving the second gear arrangement. The control device also includes a clutch arrangement positioned between the first and second gear arrangements. When the clutch arrangement is in an engaged position, it couples the first gear arrangement and the second gear arrangement to transmit torque to the first gear arrangement and the drive cup. When the clutch arrangement is in the disengaged position, the first and second gear arrangements are not coupled. Optionally, the control device comprises a brake unit to slow or stop movement of the tailgate. The control device can be positioned within the pick-up truck tailgate.
