Abstract:
A technique for suppressing vibrations generated in an air cleaner thus suppressing noise caused by the vibrations to a low level while reducing an increase in the number of parts. A motorcycle includes a seat frame, an air cleaner mounted on the seat frame and a body cover for covering the outside of the air cleaner. The body cover includes an upper body cover and a lower body cover formed by vertically dividing the body cover on a side of the air cleaner. An elastic member is sandwiched between the lower body cover and a side wall of the air cleaner. A wall member for partitioning the elastic member and a muffler from each other is mounted on the lower body cover.
Abstract:
An air cleaner is mounted on an upper portion of an engine. The air cleaner includes: a body disposed on an upper part of the engine and having a space in which a filter is received; a cover covering an upper part of the body and having a hinge member protruded from a rear edge of the cover; and a locking member including a support portion integrally formed at a rear edge of the body, and a coupling portion protruded upwardly from the support portion and provided with an opening hinged by the hinge member of the cover inserted between the coupling portion and the support member, where an upper surface and a lower surface of an insertion portion inserted into the opening of the locking member from the hinge member are inclined downward toward the rear edge of the body.
Abstract:
An air cleaner arrangement or assembly is provided. The air cleaner arrangement includes a serviceable filter cartridge. The air cleaner assembly also includes an arrangement for positioning the filter cartridge into a preferred, sealing, orientation and for securing the filter cartridge in that location. Preferred serviceable filter cartridges are provided, as well as methods of assembly and use.
Abstract:
An air cleaner is adapted to be mounted inside of a cabin of a mass transit vehicle to remove or disinfect pathogens in the air. The air cleaner includes a housing, an air filter, a grill, and optionally a disinfector. The housing is formed to define an air chamber, an inlet into the air chamber, and an outlet out of the air chamber. A fan draws air through the air chamber during use of the air cleaner. The air filter is received in the air chamber and the grill covers the air filter to secure the air filter between the grill and the housing and allow air to flow through the grill and filter into the air chamber.
Abstract:
A vehicle includes an engine main body positioned behind a seat and at least partially in the center of the vehicle width direction; a first air cleaner positioned above the engine main body so as to define and form a part of an intake passage of the internal combustion engine; and a second air cleaner disposed upstream of the first air cleaner so as to define and form a part of the intake passage, in which the second air cleaner is positioned outside the first air cleaner in the vehicle width direction. This configuration can relatively shorten the length of an intake passage including an air cleaner in vehicles, including vehicles that are frequently used on rough terrain.
Abstract:
An air cleaner assembly including a housing, a filter cartridge removably positioned within the inner opening of the housing, wherein the filter cartridge includes a media pack and a sealing member that includes a pinch seal portion spaced from an outer surface of the media pack and positionable within a housing channel of the housing when the filter cartridge is positioned within the inner opening of the housing, and a precleaner assembly positionable between the filter cartridge and the inlet end of the housing, wherein the precleaner includes a base member having a lower edge, and an access cover removably attachable to an inlet end of the housing, wherein the precleaner assembly is sealable within the air cleaner assembly by pressing the lower edge of the base member against a top surface of the sealing member.
Abstract:
A filter device is provided with a filter housing and a filter element arranged in the filter housing. The filter element is provided with an annular filter medium body that has an inflow side. The filter housing has a dirt collecting region in flow communication with the inflow side of the annular filter medium body. The dirt collecting region has an annular circumferentially extending configuration. A flow-tight separation element is arranged at or adjacent to the annular filter medium body. The dirt collecting region adjoins the flow-tight separation element. An inflow region is positioned at the inflow side of the annular filter medium body and immediately adjoins the dirt collecting region. The dirt collecting region has a radial extension relative to a longitudinal axis of the annular filter medium body, and the radial extension of the dirt collecting region is larger than a radial extension of the inflow region.
Abstract:
In an engine, an air cleaner and a muffler are located laterally opposite to each other with an engine body therebetween, the air cleaner and the muffler are located forward of the engine body in the longitudinal direction, a fuel tank is longer laterally than longitudinally when viewed from above and is located rearward of the engine body in the longitudinal direction, and an oil filler port which is sealed by a cap is provided to the fuel tank at a position laterally deviated leftward. A level gauge, which can be visually recognized when the cap is removed and the oil filler port is viewed from above and from the front side longitudinally, is provided inside the fuel tank.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are air intake assemblies for internal combustion engines. In some embodiments, an air intake assembly includes an air filter configured to produce filtered air, a sealed filter housing configured to house the air filter therein, and an intake tube configured to convey the filtered air to an internal combustion engine. The filter housing includes an air intake port configured to provide intake air to the air filter. The air filter is configured to remove particulate matter from the intake air and produce the filtered air. The air filter includes a multi-component coupling interface configured to accept an intake-end portion of the intake tube in the coupling interface. The filter housing includes an aperture configured to accept the coupling interlace of the air filter in the aperture. Also disclosed herein are methods of the air intake assemblies.
Abstract:
A filter element includes first filter media, second filter media, a frame, and a seal member. The frame is coupled to the first filter media and the second filter media, the frame securing the first filter media and the second filter media into a V-shape. The seal member is attached to and extends from the frame. The seal member includes a U-shaped channel structured to receive a ridge of a housing when the filter element is installed in the housing. The seal member is structured to form a seal between the filter element and the housing when the filter element is installed in the housing.
