Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for preparing aviation fuel component from a feedstock containing fossil hydrotreating feed and a second feed containing esters of fatty acids and rosins, free fatty acids and resin acids. The method includes subjecting the feedstock to hydrotreatment reaction conditions to produce a hydrotreated stream, separating the hydrotreated stream to three fractions from which at least part the highest boiling fraction is subjected to hydrocracking reaction to produce a hydrocracked stream. At least part of the hydrocracked stream is admixed with at least part of the hydrotreated stream, and their admixture is processed further until desired conversion of the feedstock to the aviation fuel component is obtained.

The droplet formation for fuels further includes a hydrophobic portion. The droplet, including the hydrophilic portion and the hydrophobic portion, includes characteristics selected for beneficial combustion properties. The selected characteristics include flash point, autoignition temperature, density, viscosity, miscibility, size, combustion temperature, organic properties, inorganic properties, zwitterionic properties, micelle properties, and particulate properties.

Abstract: Methods of refining a whole crude oil stream. The methods involve first processing the crude either through a hydrotreating reactor comprising a dewaxing reactor bed or a flash evaporation separator. The treated streams are then further processed through a demetalization reactor bed, a hydroprocessing reactor bed, or both. The stream can then be still further processed via additional hydrotreating, distillation, or both.

Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel composition based on a diesel fraction, having a sulphur content of less than 10 mg/kg with the boiling range of 180-360° C., characterized in that said fuel composition contains organic peroxides as ignition promoters, which are selected from the group: di-tert-butyl peroxide, 1,1-di-(tert-butylperoxy)cyclohexane, dicumyl peroxide, tert-butyl cumyl peroxide, isobutyl cumyl peroxide, n-butyl cumyl peroxide, isopropyl cumyl peroxide, ethyl cumyl peroxide and methyl cumyl peroxide, and contains an anti-wear additive based on carboxylic acids having the following ratio of components, wt %: 0.01-0.5 organic peroxide, 0.005-0.1 anti-wear additive, and up to 100 being the diesel fraction. The proposed diesel fuel composition allows producing diesel fuel which meets quality performance requirements.

Abstract: For the shipping industry, these fuels provide solutions to long outstanding technical problems that heretofore hindered supply of low sulfur marine fuels in quantities needed to meet worldwide sulfur reduction goals. Marine shipping use of high sulfur bunker oils is reported as largest source of worldwide transportation SOx emissions. When ships on the open seas burn cheap low grade heavy bunker oils high in sulfur, nitrogen and metals, the SOx, NOx, and metal oxides go to the environment. This invention converts essentially all of each barrel of crude feed to a single ultraclean fuel versus conventional refining where crude feed is cut into many pieces, and each piece is sent down a separate market path meeting various different product specifications. When in port, ships can use these fuels to generate and sell electricity to land based electrical grids to offset fuel cost in an environment-friendly manner.

Abstract: Processes for using pyrolysis gas as a feedstock or a co-feedstock for making a variety of chemicals, for example, circular ethylene, circular ethylene polymers and copolymers, and other circular products. In these processes, pyrolysis reactor conditions can be selected to increase or optimized the production of pyrolysis gas over pyrolysis oil, and the pyrolysis gas which is usually used as fuel or flared can be fed downstream of the steam cracker furnace for economic use to form circular chemicals. Operating parameters of the pyrolysis unit may be adjusted to increase or decrease the proportion of pyrolysis gas relative to pyrolysis liquid as a function of their relative economic values.
