Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a control unit configured to generate color chart data, a transport unit configured to intermittently transport a medium, a printing unit configured to print a colorimetric patches on a processing unit region, a drying unit configured to dry the processing unit region, and a colorimetric unit configured to measure a color of the colorimetric patches in the processing unit region subjected to the drying, wherein the control unit is configured to acquire, based on a printing setting, a drying holding time during which the processing unit region is held at the drying unit, calculate a color-measurable patch number which is measurable by the colorimetric unit within the drying holding time, and generate the color chart data for printing a number of the colorimetric patches in the processing unit region, the number being less than or equal to the color-measurable patch number.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing including a front surface and a rear surface; a display provided in the housing and exposed through the front surface of the housing; an illuminance sensor provided below a sensor area in an active area of the display, the active area being an area of the display in which visual information is to be displayed; and a processor connected to the display and the illuminance sensor, wherein the processor is configured to: determine an illuminance value based on data received from the illuminance sensor; obtain color information of an image displayed in the active area; determine a first color value of the active area and a second color value of the sensor area based on the color information; adjust the illuminance value based on the first color value and the second color value; and configure a luminance of the display based on the adjusted illuminance value.

Abstract: Devices and methods of the present technology utilize wavelength-dependent transmittance of 2D materials to identify the wavelength of an electromagnetic radiation. A wide range of 2D materials can be used, making possible the use of the technology over a large portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, from gamma rays to the far infrared. When combined with appropriate algorithms and artificial intelligence, the technology can identify the wavelength of one or more monochromatic sources, or can identify color through the use of a training set. When applied in an array format, the technology can provide color imaging or spectral imaging using different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Abstract: Provided is a measurement device including a spectroscope, a movement mechanism configured to relatively move the spectroscope along a first direction with respect to the measurement target, and one or more processors configured to execute detecting a measurement error indicating that spectroscopic measurement processing by the spectroscope is not executed normally, and controlling the spectroscope and the movement mechanism, in which the one or more processors, when the measurement target is a plurality of color patches arranged along the first direction, cause the spectroscope to execute first measurement processing of measuring light with a specific wavelength set in advance while relatively moving the spectroscope in the first direction to acquire a measured value with respect to the specific wavelength obtained by the first measurement processing and a position of the spectroscope, and when the measurement error is detected, move the spectroscope to a position where an amount of variation of the measured value is greater than or equal to a threshold value in a second direction opposite to the first direction and then move the spectroscope in the first direction.

Some systems and methods may include one or more corrections for scattered and/or ambient light such as applying an ambient light correction, passing the reflected light through an anti-scatter grid, or using a time-dependent variation in the emitted light.

Abstract: A multispectral sensor array can include a combination of ranging sensor channels (e.g., LIDAR sensor channels) and ambient-light sensor channels tuned to detect ambient light having a channel-specific property (e.g., color). The sensor channels can be arranged and spaced to provide multispectral images of a field of view in which the multispectral images from different sensors are inherently aligned with each other to define an array of multispectral image pixels. Various optical elements can be provided to facilitate imaging operations. Light ranging/imaging systems incorporating multispectral sensor arrays can operate in rotating and/or static modes.

Abstract: Calibration devices for calibrating a camera, systems for computer-aided determination of hair colour information, and methods for calibrating a camera are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method for calibrating a camera includes recording a digital image of a piece of calibration information on a fibre from a plurality of fibres from natural hair or fibres that resemble natural hair by employing a camera. The fibre is identified in the digital image by employing a marker. A plurality of colour values are determined for a plurality of reference colours as the calibration information on the fibre in the digital image, wherein a reference colour value is assigned to each reference colour. The respective determined colour value for the plurality of the determined colour values is assigned to the respectively assigned reference colour value for the plurality of reference colour values.
