    Abstract: An X-ray imaging apparatus and a consumption level estimation method for an X-ray source, which estimate the consumption level of an X-ray source without measuring grid voltage. An X-ray control part includes: a tube current value setting part setting a tube current value supplied to an X-ray source; a tube current value measurement part measuring a cathode current value as the tube current value by a cathode current detector; a time measurement part measuring the time when the tube current value is set by the tube current value setting part and the time when the tube current value measured by the tube current value measurement part reaches the set value; and a consumption level estimation part estimating the consumption level of a cathode in the X-ray source based one the time until the tube current value reaches the set value after the tube current value has been set.

    Abstract: An X-ray radiator and an X-ray assembly are disclosed. The X-ray radiator according to an embodiment has an evacuated X-ray tube housing, mounted to be rotatable about a rotation axis, the X-ray tube housing including an anode and an electron source. The anode is arranged within the X-ray tube housing non-rotatably relative to the X-ray tube housing and is configured to generate X-ray radiation via electrons impacting upon a focal spot of the anode, the electron source being mounted substantially stationary within the X-ray tube housing relative to the rotation axis. The electron source has a main emitter and at least one subsidiary emitter for emitting electrons. The electron emission of the main emitter and/or of the at least one subsidiary emitter is controllable such that a spatial movement of the focal spot due to a movement of the electron source is reduced.

    Abstract: A planar filament 11f can include multiple materials to increase electron emission in desired directions and to suppress electron emission in undesired directions. The filament 11f can include a core-material CM between a top-material TM and a bottom-material BM. The top-material TM can have a lowest work function WFt; the bottom-material BM can have a highest work function WFb; and the core-material CM can have an intermediate work function WFc(WFt Wb). This shape makes it easier to coat the edges 31e with the bottom-material BM, because the edges 31e tilt toward and partially face the sputter target. This shape also helps direct more electrons to a center of the target 14, and reduce electron emission in undesired directions.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a CNT X-ray source apparatus, and more particularly, to a CNT X-ray source apparatus configured to maximize utilization of the internal space of a CNT X-ray tube body, having grooves made of an insulating material, and provided with a base portion for supporting a plurality of electrodes. With this configuration, mass production is possible. The CNT X-ray source apparatus of the present disclosure includes a cathode electrode; an emitter provided on the cathode electrode and responsible for emitting electrons; a gate electrode disposed above the cathode electrode and spaced apart from the cathode electrode by a predetermined interval; a focusing electrode for preventing scattering of electrons emitted from the emitter; and a base portion responsible for supporting one or more of the cathode electrode, the gate electrode, and the focusing electrode and formed of an insulating material. In this case, one or more grooves for accommodating at least one of the cathode electrode, the gate electrode, and the focusing electrode are formed in the base portion.

The target can include multiple layers of different chemical compositions. These layers can be distinguished by a higher atomic number, a higher energy K-alpha x-ray characteristic line, and a higher density in one layer compared to another layer. The layer that is lower in these characteristics can face the x-ray window. The layers can be formed by sputter deposition.

    Abstract: A radiation source of a mammography apparatus includes plural first radiation tubes and one second radiation tube. The first radiation tubes are used for tomosynthesis imaging. In contrast, the second radiation tube is used for pre-imaging which is performed before the tomosynthesis imaging in order to set the irradiation conditions of radiation in the tomosynthesis imaging. The first radiation tubes are provided at plural positions where the focuses of the radiation are set so as to be arranged in a linear shape or an arc shape at equal intervals. The second radiation tube is provided at a position that is offset from the plural positions where the first radiation tubes are provided to a rear side which is a side opposite to the irradiation side of the radiation.
