    Abstract: This patent describes an economical and environment-friendly continuous process for the synthesis of anionic clay-containing compositions. It involves reacting a slurry comprising aluminium trihydrate and/or its calcined form, with a magnesium source. There is no necessity to wash or filter the product. It can be spray dried directly to form microspheres or can be extruded to form shaped bodies. The product can be combined with other ingredients in the manufacture of catalysts, absorbents, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, detergents, and other commodity products.

    Abstract: This invention relates to zeolites of the faujasite type generally referred to as X or Y zeolites which contain both aluminum and NH.sub.4 in exchange position and catalysts employing the same.The zeolite of our invention is derived from the sodium form of the zeolite by first exchanging the sodium form with an aluminum ion to replace a substantial portion of the sodium and further reducing the sodium content of the zeolite by exchange with an ammonium ion.

    Abstract: A process for producing catalyst for biomass catalytic cracking is disclosed herein. The process includes modifying a phyllosilicate to produce a modified phyllosilicate having an improved yield of a pyrolysis reaction. The modification of the phyllosilicate includes leaching the clay with an acid or basic solution to form a leached clay preparation, calcining the leached clay and contacting the treated clay with a suspension comprising metal ions for ion-exchange. The modified clay catalyst can then be mixed with inorganic materials such as zeolites and dried to form fluidizable microspheres.
