    Abstract: A scanning force microscope system that employs a laser (76) and a probe assembly (24) mounted in a removable probe illuminator assembly (22), that is mounted to the moving portion of a scanning mechanism. The probe illuminator assembly may be removed from the microscope to permit alignment of said laser beam onto a cantilever (30) after removal. This prevents damage to, and shortens alignment time of, the microscope during replacement and alignment of the probe assembly. The scanning probe microscope assembly (240) supports a scanning probe microscope (244). Scanning probe microscope (244) holds a removable probe sensor assembly (242). Removable probe sensor assembly (242) may be transported and conveniently attached to the adjustment station (250) where the probe sensor assembly parameters may be observed and adjusted if necessary. The probe sensor assembly (242) may then be attached to the scanning probe microscope (244).

    Abstract: An electrical connector (40) having a two part articulated housing (42) is disclosed. The connector, intended for surface mounting on a curved surface (74, 76) of a circuit board (56), includes two housing parts (44, 48) that are intercoupled by means of a flexible member (62) that permits relative movement of the two housing parts in a direction toward and away from the mounting surface but is substantially rigid in the lateral direction. The connector (40) is manufactured by stamping and forming a series of the flexible members (62) on a carrier strip (90), passing the carrier strip through a plastic injection mold machine (98) for molding the two housing parts (44, 48) insitu onto the flexible strip (62), and then passing the carrier strip (90) through a contact insertion machine (102) for inserting the contacts (46,50) into the two housing parts (44, 48).

    Abstract: A collapsible tree stand to provide an elevated support for a hunter or hunters against a tree trunk. The stand includes an elongated sectional ladder having a platform seat and footrest each pivotally attached to the uppermost ladder section. The platform seat also includes safety front and side rails removably associated with the seat. An anchoring structure is provided for securing the tree stand to the tree. The seat and footrest are dimensioned to accommodate a single occupant or two occupants. When disassembled, the safety rails attach and nest, and the platform seat and footrest collapse and nest with respect to the uppermost ladder section, for compact transport and storage.

    Abstract: A machine and a method for applying a solder resistant material or solder resist to predetermined portions of miniature connector structures are disclosed. The machine permits large numbers of the miniature connector structures to be precisely treated with the solder resist without the need for costly and time consuming masking procedures. More particularly, the miniature connector structures attached to a carrier strip are fed through a hybrid fluid dispensing assembly similar to a bath, which is continuously supplied with the solder resistant material. The quantity of material supplied to the hybrid fluid dispenser or bath is coordinated with the speed at which the miniature connector structures are driven through the bath so that each of the miniature structures absorbs a predetermined amount of solder resistant material by capillary action. The quantity of material absorbed by each of the miniature connector structures is controlled so that it is just sufficient to fill a desired area. The filled connectors are subsequently heated to cure the solder resistant material.

    Abstract: An integrated circuit including a logic analyzer with enhanced analyzing and debugging capabilities and a method therefor. In one embodiment of the present invention, an embedded logic analyzer (ELA) receives a plurality of signals from a plurality of buses within an integrated circuit (IC). The ELA includes an interconnect module to select a trigger signal and/or a sampled signal from the plurality of received signals. A trigger module sets at least one trigger condition and detects if the trigger signal satisfies the at least one trigger condition. When the trigger condition is satisfied, an output module performs at least one task based upon the satisfied at least one trigger condition. If a sampling process is initiated by the output module, the plurality of sampled signals is sampled and may be stored in a memory. The capability of the output module to perform multiple user-defined tasks enhances the debugging capability of the ELA and makes it more versatile.
