    Abstract: A nut fastener is provided for locking the nut to prevent inadvertent loosening of the nut. The nut fastener is particularly useful for tightening a wheel onto an axle. The nut fastener includes a nut, a collar and a retaining ring. The nut is unlocked by pushing on an engagement surface of the collar or by riding ratchet teeth over each other. When the collar is released, the collar locks against the nut to resist rotation of the nut.

    Abstract: An automotive suspension stabilizer bar includes a fiber-reinforced composite rod having sets of fibers oriented at 0null, null45null, and null45null with respect to the longitudinal axis of the rod. Each end of the rod is secured to a respective light metal arm by first positioning the rod end in a recess in the arm and then crimping the arm about the rod end. The result is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant stabilizer bar.

    Abstract: A wheel fastener and method of forming a wheel fastener is provided. The wheel fastener has a fastener body with a threaded portion, a wrenching portion and a spherical load-bearing portion is configured to mate with a fastener seat on a wheel, where the spherical radius is in the range of 13.9 mm to 14.0 mm. The fastener also includes a multi-layer coating is applied to the fastener body, the multi-layer coating having a friction topcoat with a coefficient of friction in the range of 0.10 to 0.20. The fastener also includes a cap secured on the wrenching portion and defining a wrenching surface.

The end of the cap is crimped in a groove between the first and second outer flanges. A crimping tool and method of crimping are also provided for crimping the end of a cap into a groove between two outer flanges.
