Abstract: Sold-state intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging devices, systems, and methods are provided. Some embodiments of the present disclosure are particularly directed to compact and efficient circuit architectures and electrical interfaces for an ultrasound transducer array used in a solid-state IVUS system. In one embodiment, an intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) device includes: a flexible elongate member; an ultrasound scanner assembly disposed at a distal portion of the flexible elongate member, the ultrasound scanner assembly including an ultrasound transducer array; an interface coupler disposed at a proximal portion of the flexible elongate member; and a cable disposed within and extending along a length of the flexible elongate member between the ultrasound scanner assembly and the interface coupler. The cable includes four conductors electrically coupling the ultrasound scanner assembly and the interface coupler.

Abstract: Imaging devices, systems, and methods are provided. Some embodiments of the present disclosure are particularly directed to removing artifacts caused by longitudinal motion of a sensor during imaging. In some embodiments, a medical sensing system includes a de-seaming engine operable to receive a first signal at a first point and second signal at a second point. The first and second points are offset from the pixel in the longitudinal direction. The de-seaming engine corrects for movement in the longitudinal direction by determining a weighted average of the first signal and the second signal. The engine determines a first probability based on the first signal and the weighted average and determines a second probability based on the second signal and the weighted average. The engine selects one of the first and second signal intensities as an intensity of the pixel based on the first and second probabilities.

Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure involves a method. The method includes retrieving, from a diagnostic medical device, identification information that identifies a feature of the diagnostic medical device. A proprietary signal is generated in response to the identification information. The proprietary signal is sent to a medical measurement system to facilitate an unlocking of one or more programs to be executed on the medical measurement system. Another aspect of the present disclosure involves a method. The method includes detecting, through an electronic interface device, a coupling of a remote diagnostic medical device. Thereafter, a proprietary signal is received from the electronic interface device. An identity feature of the remote diagnostic medical device is ascertained based on the proprietary signal. One or more programs are unlocked for execution if the identity feature of the remote diagnostic medical device matches a predetermined identity feature.

Abstract: The invention generally relates to a polarization sensitive optical coherence tomography (OCT) system that includes both polarization maintaining and single mode optical fiber and methods of use thereof. Generally, OCT systems of the invention have a light source and a differential path interferometer that includes a sample arm and a reference arm. A splitter is used to split light from the light source to the sample arm and the reference arm. Reflected light from the sample arm and the reference arm is recombined at a detector. The polarization maintaining fiber is used in the reference arm to ensure that optical field intensity is equalized between two orthogonal detection channels of the OCT system.
