Abstract: In one aspect of the present disclosure, a display system (e.g., a wearable HMD) is described that includes an internal housing; a lens that is positioned within the internal housing; a display module including a display panel that is positioned within the internal housing to allow for relative movement between the lens and the display module to adjust focus of the display panel; and a seal that extends between the internal housing and the display module to define an enclosed interior space accommodating the lens and relative movement between the lens and the display module.

The display system may lens information from the removable lens with the lens detection sensor, and may provide an indicator of the removable lens according to the lens information.

Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a display with first and second pixel arrays that display content for a user. A head-mounted support structure in the device supports the pixel arrays on the head of the user. A left positioner may be used to position a left lens module that includes a left lens and the first pixel array. A right positioner may be used to position a right lens module that includes a right lens and the second pixel array. Sensing circuitry such as proximity sensing circuitry may be used to detect relative positions between the left and right lens modules and facing surfaces of a user's nose while the user is wearing the head-mounted support structure. Control circuitry may adjust the positions of the left and right lens modules using interpupillary distance information for the user and using information from the sensing circuitry.

Abstract: A wearable apparatus includes a head-mountable display frame, a first mechanical stop, a cover glass, a second mechanical stop, and a cable. The head-mountable display frame includes a first interface portion defining a first channel. The first mechanical stop is defined by the head-mountable display frame. The cover glass is attachable to the head-mountable display frame and includes a second interface portion defining a second channel. The second mechanical stop is defined by the cover glass, and is positionable against the first mechanical stop when the first interface portion is mated to the second interface portion, and the first interface portion and the second interface portion define a lumen. The cable is disposed along at least a portion of the lumen.

Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a head-mounted housing. The housing may include a chassis with left and right openings that overlap respective left and right optical modules that present images eye boxes. Each optical module may have a lens and display that presents an image through the lens. The chassis may have an inner frame and outer frame. A middle portion of the chassis may form a stiffened nose bridge structure. Components in the housing such as a display, a fan housing, a heat sink layer, optical module guide rods, and a rear cover may span the width of the housing and may be attached to edge portions of the chassis, thereby forming a box-shaped structure that provides rigidity and helps prevent housing deformation.

Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a head-mounted housing. The housing may include a frame with left and right openings that receive respective left and right optical modules that present images to a user's eyes. Each optical module may have a lens and display that presents an image through the lens. Camera support members may be coupled to respective left and right peripheral portions of the frame. Each camera support member may have openings configured to receive cameras. Antennas may be formed on a camera support member. The antennas may have metal traces on a surface of the camera support member, may have conductive structures embedded within the camera support member, and/or may have patterned metal traces on printed circuits attached to or embedded in the camera support member. The cameras may operate through portions of a display cover layer that covers an outwardly-facing display on the head-mounted housing.
