Abstract: A head-mounted device may include optical assemblies for presenting images to a user. Motors may be used to adjust the spacing between the optical assemblies to accommodate different interpupillary distances. The head-mounted device may have a housing that receives a custom-fit removable light seal with vision correction lenses. A sensor or wireless transceiver in the housing may receive interpupillary distance information from the light seal. Based on this information, the motors may adjust the optical assemblies so that the optical assemblies are spaced apart by an amount that matches the interpupillary distance associated with the user of the custom-fit removable light seal.

A first coupler portion of the first device portion is connectable to a second coupler portion of the second device portion to define a connected position in which the first device portion is connected to the second device portion and a disconnected position in which the first device portion is disconnected from the second device portion. A second adjuster portion of the second device portion causes a first adjuster portion of the first device portion to move a first optical module and a second optical module in response to movement of the first device portion and the second device portion from the disconnected position to the connected position.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided with a display such as a liquid crystal display mounted in an electronic device housing. The display has display layers such as a layer of liquid crystal material, a color filter layer, a thin-film transistor layer, and polarizer layers. The display also has backlight structures and a display cover layer. Display mounting structures are formed from a metal member that also serves as a structural midplate within the electronic device housing. Plastic reflector structures such as white plastic and plastic trim structures are molded onto the midplate. The plastic reflector structures form a rectangular recess that receives the light guide plate. The midplate has bent wall portions that form a rectangular recess that receives the display layers. The trim structures define a rectangular recess that receives the display cover layer. Protruding portions with openings attach the midplate to the housing.

Abstract: Methods for forming aluminum enclosures for consumer products are described. Included are methods for forming features, such as brackets or supports for supporting one or more internal components of the consumer product. In some embodiments, methods involve shaping integral features into the aluminum enclosures. In some embodiments, methods involve molding resinous or plastic features onto the aluminum enclosures. Abstract: This is directed to an antenna for use in an electronic device. The antenna can be constructed from a flex and printed trace, such that the flex is originally defined to be as large or nearly as large as possible to fit within portion of the electronic device dedicated to the antenna. This can allow the antenna trace to vary as the antenna is tuned without requiring a new flex having a different shape. In addition, this can allow the antenna design to be decoupled from the mechanical considerations related to mounting the antenna within the electronic device.
