Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose formats for MCData messages and notifications, and methods for coding (encoding and decoding) MCData messages and notifications in a MCData communication system. The method includes generating, by a first UE, an encoded MCData message or notification comprising of signaling payload and data payload content related to one or more MCData user payloads. Further the method includes deriving, by a second UE, the actual MCData messages or notifications by decoding the received encoded MCData messages or notifications. The formats for MCData messages and MCData notifications optimize control headers and allow maximum user data size that can be carried in a single message over signalling, which aids in sending multiple user payloads in a single message.

Abstract: Embodiments herein achieve systems and methods for managing communication in a Mission Critical data (MCData) communication system. The proposed method and system provides file distribution and data streaming in the MCData communication system. The proposed method and system provides a functional model and mechanisms to support mission critical data services. The functional model to support file distribution and data streaming, and associated procedures including one-to-one, one-to-many, and group data communications. Further, the proposed method and system provides mechanisms for optimizing radio resource utilization and backhaul link utilization in the MCData communication system. The proposed method and system provides radio resource utilization of the PC5 interface for the MC service, when multiple group members are under a relay node. Further, the proposed method and system can be used to reduce number of unicast transmissions between the MCData server and the MCData UEs by local routing at the relay node.

Abstract: A method for performing a data session via a Wi-Fi access of a user equipment (UE) in a cellular network is provided. The method includes maintaining a look-up table including at least an entry, the entry including a Wi-Fi identifier of a Wi-Fi access point (AP) and location information of the Wi-Fi AP, determining whether a user preference for a Wi-Fi connection is set to ON or OFF, checking whether at least one matched entry of the look-up table is found based on current location information of the UE, scanning to discover the Wi-Fi AP, connecting to a Wi-Fi AP corresponding to the matched entry based on a result of the determining, and performing a data session via a Wi-Fi access to the connected Wi-Fi AP.

Abstract: A method and system for establishing the ISC session among one or more communication devices for a content viewing and/or a communication to enable integration of the content viewing and the communication is provided. The integration or convergence of the content viewing and the communication provides an immersive user experience to one or more ISC users in the ISC environment participating in the ISC session including a self ISC session, a one to one ISC session or a group ISC session. The method allows an initiator ISC client to append one or more first parameters in a first SIP INVITE for the content viewing and one or more second parameters in a second SIP INVITE for the communication. The common appended parameters such as an ISCConvergenceID indicate the media function and the communication function to integrate the communication with respect to the content viewing.
