    Abstract: The various implementations described herein include methods and systems for encoding and decoding video. In one aspect, a method of video decoding includes receiving video data that includes a first block that is partitioned into a first section and a second section, from a video bitstream. The method further includes identifying a prediction mode for the first block from a syntax element of the video bitstream. In accordance with the prediction mode being a partition-based inter-intra prediction mode wherein the first section is associated with an inter prediction mode and the second section is associated with an intra prediction mode, the first section is blended using a first blending mask and the second section is blended using a second blending mask, the second blending mask being different than the first blending mask. The method also includes decoding the first block using the blended first and second sections.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry receives coded information of a current block in a current picture from a coded video bitstream, the coded information is indicative of applying local illumination compensation (LIC) on the current block according to a reference block in a reference picture. The processing circuitry constructs a parameter set list for the LIC, the parameter set list comprising a plurality of parameter sets for the LIC, and determines a selected parameter set from the parameter set list according to an index that is decoded from the coded video bitstream. The processing circuitry performs the LIC on the current block based on the selected parameter set to generate compensated samples of the current block according to the reference block in the reference picture.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for decoding a compressed image using a neural image compression network may be provided. The method may include generating long-range context model parameters associated with a high resolution compressed image, the long-range context model parameters corresponding to a first area. The method may also include splitting the generated long-range context model parameters into a first number of context parameter blocks. The method may also include for each block in the first number of context parameter blocks, predicting respective context features using a long-range context model and respective context parameter blocks, wherein the long-range context model uses a corner-to-center latent decoding strategy or an edge-to-center latent decoding strategy to decode latents associated with the high resolution compressed image.     Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to video coding and particularly to methods and systems for providing signaling schemes for jointly coding of motion vector difference. An example method for decoding a current video block of a video bitstream is disclosed. The method includes receiving a coded video bitstream; determining, from the coded video bitstream, a flag for a current video block, wherein the flag indicates whether joint motion vector difference (MVD) coding is applied to the current video block; and in response to the flag indicating that the joint MVD coding is applied to the current video block: obtaining, by the device from the coded video bitstream, a joint MVD for the current video block, deriving, by the device based on the joint MVD, an MVD for the current video block, and decoding, by the device based on the joint MVD and the derived MVD, the current video block.
