Abstract: A process for hydrotreating a feed stream comprising a biorenewable feedstock is disclosed. The process comprises hydrotreating the feed stream in the presence of a hydrotreating hydrogen stream and a hydrotreating catalyst to provide a hydrotreated stream. The hydrotreated stream is separated into a hydrotreated liquid stream and a hydrotreated gas stream. The hydrotreated liquid stream is subjected to stripping to provide a stripper off-gas stream. At least a portion of the stripper off-gas stream is contacted with a caustic stream to provide a sulfur-lean gas stream and a sulfur-rich caustic stream. The sulfur-rich caustic stream is further treated to provide a treated gas stream.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for catalytic conversion of feedstock and separating catalyst from product gas comprises a first hydrocarbon feedstock contacted with a first stream of catalyst in a first riser to produce a first mixture of catalyst and product gases. A second hydrocarbon feedstock is contacted with a second stream of catalyst in a second riser to produce a second mixture of catalyst and product gases. The first riser and/or the second riser may terminate within a reactor vessel. The first mixture of catalyst and product gases from the first riser pass into a first disengagement chamber within the reactor vessel. The second mixture of catalyst and product gases pass from the second riser into a second disengagement chamber within the same reactor vessel.

Abstract: A stripper off gas stream from a low pressure hydroprocessing unit may be routed to a hydrogen recovery unit to recover hydrogen. The stripper off gas stream may be scrubbed of acid gases and then compressed to hydrogen recovery pressure before it is subjected to hydrogen recovery such as in a pressure swing adsorption unit to recover high purity hydrogen.

Abstract: A power generation process for use in a processing unit that includes the steps of: using a regenerator to produce a flue gas stream; removing catalyst particles from the flue gas stream; routing the flue gas stream to a combustor/expander unit after performing the step of removing catalyst particles; and using rotation of the turbine of the combustor/expander unit as a source of rotary power. Preferably, the combustor/expander unit includes a combustion chamber and a power recovery turbine housed within a single casing. In certain embodiments, the flue gas stream is routed between the regenerator and the combustor/expander without passing through a compressor.

Abstract: Embodiments of apparatuses and methods for reforming of hydrocarbons including recovery of products are provided. In one example, a method comprises separating a reforming-zone effluent to form a net gas phase stream and a liquid phase hydrocarbon stream. The net gas phase stream is compressed, partially condensed and cooled to form a partially condensed, compressed net gas phase stream. The partially condensed, compressed net gas phase stream is separated to form an intermediate gas phase stream. The intermediate gas phase stream is cooled to form a cooled intermediate gas phase stream. The liquid phase hydrocarbon stream is cooled to form a cooled liquid phase hydrocarbon stream. The cooled intermediate gas phase stream is contacted with the cooled liquid phase hydrocarbon stream to form an H2-rich stream and a cooled second intermediate liquid phase hydrocarbon stream that is enriched with C3/C4 hydrocarbons.
