Abstract:
A portable combination medical therapy device that integrates the collective beneficial characteristics of five separate and distinct therapeutic pain relieving, relaxing, stimulating and healing modalities. The device comprises an applicator head that contains: at least two electrically conducting electrodes, a vibration mechanism, light mechanism, heat mechanism and is functionally designed to enable the operator to apply varying pressure and movement to the tissue being treated. The beneficial healing, relaxing and pain relieving results are enhanced because of the convenience and synergistic effect that the portable multiple healing modalities provide.
Abstract:
A therapeutic system for massage comprises a massage device having an activation cell comprising a hollow pocket at least partially filled with a ferro-magnetic fluid, a permanent magnet suspended in the ferro-magnetic fluid, a coil of electrically-conductive material in proximity to the pocket, and a connection interface to connect the coil to a source of varying voltage and current, and a power source of varying voltage for connecting to the connection interface to drive the activation cell.
Abstract:
A manual cold therapy foot massage device, which consists of a long cylindrical rod that is hollow in nature. Two rollers connected to each end of the cylindrical rod are wider in diameter than the cylindrical rod allowing the device to roll back and forth easily over a flat surface while being used. The cylindrical rod is filled with a non-freezable gel and wrapped with a flexible reusable cold compress that is also gel filled. The device can be placed in the freezer to reduce the gel filled cylinder and cold compress to freezing temperatures and removed for treatment to provide an ice therapy massage for the bottom of the foot or other affected areas.
Abstract:
A handheld massage device has a body including a handle portion and a head portion forming a socket in which a roller ball is removably received. The user can provide increased pressure and can better control a motion during a massage by way of the device. A rolling aspect of the roller ball provides a distinctive massage, especially when a ball of a predetermined size, material, and/or other physical characteristics is used in the device. The massage device may include a set of roller balls, and the method may include selecting a roller ball from the set based on one or more desired characteristic and/or associated therapeutic property to impart a particular healing or other benefit to the subject person.
Abstract:
A heated massage ball apparatus has a ball that may be heated retained within a grip that allows for the ball to rotate freely therewithin. The ball may be heated, for example, in a microwave oven, and may be substantially hollow and filled with a liquid that retains heat. The grip is pliable enough to allow the forced insertion or ejection of the ball past its widest circumference. An opening in the bottom of the base may facilitate the removal of the ball from the base, whereby the user inserts a finger therein to force the ball out of the grip. A heating base can accept the grip and ball and provide heat to the ball, such as a heated conductor that extends through the bottom opening in the grip and heats the ball by direct contact and thermal conduction. An electrical circuit may be included that provides on/off and temperature controls, a heating element, a temperature-sensing means, a thermostat, and a display for indicating a target and current ball temperatures.
Abstract:
A therapeutic article is provided which includes an enclosure containing at least a single structure for overlaying a pressure point, and a viscous fluid substantially surrounding the at least a single structure. The at least a single structure is free to be selectively positionable within the viscous fluid, and along a length and width of the elongate enclosure. The viscous fluid is suited for selectively heating or chilling in furtherance of therapy enhancement. The article is further adapted for use as a wrap structure for affixation about an body portion for receipt of therapy.
Abstract:
The massage device has a housing, which includes a massage head integral with the housing. The massage head has a first massaging surface. A heating element, integral with the housing, is positioned sufficiently proximate to the first massaging surface to raise a temperature of the first massaging surface above ambient temperature. The massage device also includes a massage head cover formed to engage the massage head, said massage head cover comprising a second massaging surface and a freezable material.
Abstract:
A personal sexual aid and a two person sexual aid adapted for chilling. The personal sexual aid a hollow, substantially cylindrical member having a thermal insulating property and freeze gel material having a large thermal mass. The hollow, substantially cylindrical member includes: a side surface; a sealed, substantially dome-shaped front end; and a rear end. The freeze gel material fills the hollow, substantially cylindrical member. The two-person sexual aid includes two hollow, substantially cylindrical members coupled at their rear ends by a coupling section.
Abstract:
A massage tool for use in performing an ice massage including an anchor extending from the bottom of a base for extending into a mold for receiving a block of ice. The massage tool includes a handle by which the tool can be manipulated, which provides thermal isolation from the ice attached to the tool. The tool is weighted to reduce the amount of additional force needed to apply the desired pressure during the massage, thereby reducing hand and muscle fatigue of the therapist providing the massage.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for providing thermal therapies or internal thermal massage therapy for treating prostatitis by expanding and contracting a treatment balloon with inflation media and currently applying heat to a portion of the prostatic urethra.
