Abstract:
A sprayer, which in one embodiment, is a hand held ergonomic sprayer is disclosed herein. The sprayer may include: a housing through which water flows; a handle for gripping by a user, which is joined to the housing; at least one spray nozzle operatively connected to the housing; and, a connection for a hose, the connection being joined to the housing. In one non-limiting embodiment, when the sprayer has one end of a water-filled hose connected thereto, the combination of the sprayer and suspended portion of the hose has a combined center of gravity that passes through the axis of the sprayer handle. The sprayers described herein may also have other features, and provide other benefits that do not require the sprayers to have an ergonomic design.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for preparing hydroxyl-containing polymers, in particular for preparing polytetrahydrofuran with terminal hydroxyl groups, from the corresponding acyloxy-containing polymers by transesterification with alcohols in the presence of a sodium-containing catalyst. In this process the polytetrahydrofuiran solution is passed in the presence of a catalytic amount of water directly through at least one ion exchanger following the transesterification in order to remove the sodium cations. The novel process makes it possible to remove the sodium cations from the sodium-containing catalyst in an economic manner and with little complexity. The residual sodium content can be reduced to values of less than 0.5 ppm.
Abstract:
A method for the treatment of liquids containing particles in suspension, by percolation of the liquid from top to bottom through a bed of granular material, notably of a ion exchanger resin, includes treatment cycles of the liquid and regeneration cycles of the resin, preceded by decompaction and washing operations, carried out in the same enclosure the inner space of which is divided into two superimposed compartments in mutual communication. The lower compartment is totally filled with granular material and the upper compartment is partly filled with granular material. The decompaction and washing operations of the granular material contained in the enclosure upper compartment are carried out periodically prior to each regeneration cycle by expanding the granular material by means of a current of liquid flowing from bottom to top.
Abstract:
A water demineralizer system and method is provided in which at least three beds of resin particles are connected in series flow arrangement preferably within a single vessel for substantially removing metal ions such as calcium and magnesium from water feed by exchange with hydrogen ions. The raw feed water flows first through an upper cation resin bed, then through an intermediate anion resin bed, and then through a lower bed of mixed cation and anion resins, and preferably flows downwardly through the beds. After the resin beds become saturated with metal ions from the feed water, mainly by calcium and magnesium ions, the beds are regenerated by first backwashing with water, then chemically treating with acid and caustic solution, followed by bed rinsing, air mixing and backflushing with water prior to further use for demineralizing the feed water.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the countercurrent treatment of liquids with adsorbents in an adsorption-filter the space of which is divided by trays which are permeable to liquids into at least 2 chambers, in which before and/or during the charging of the adsorbent in the upward flow, the regeneration of the charged adsorbent in the downward flow and the backwasting in the upward flow particular levels to which the industrial chambers are filled are established by transferring adsorbent from one chamber to the adjacent chamber.
Abstract:
A series of ion exchangers are connected in parallel in a water treatment system and are electrically interlocked against simultaneous regeneration. After an exchanger regenerates, it is held in standby status and is automatically returned to service use when another exchanger begins its regeneration cycle.

Abstract:
A pair of water conditioning tanks each having a service port. The service ports are connected to each other and to a service outlet conduit. A pair of semibalanced, direct-acting control valves are provided, each having an inlet port, a tank port connected to one of the conditioning tanks, and a drain port. Each valve has a pressure responsive piston engaging the valve stem and a conduit for supplying line pressure to the piston to assist in operating the valve. Timed motor operators alternately maintain one of the valves in service position and the other in backwash position whereby each tank can be backwashed with conditioned water from the other.
Abstract:
It is disclosed orange juice products with reduced acidity, a deacidification system and a process for deacidifying orange juices comprising eluting the orange juice to be deacidified on a weak anion exchange resin to lead to a deacidified orange juice after elution; wherein the orange juice to be deacidified has an initial pH (pHi) and is eluted on said resin at a rate (BV/h) such that the deacidified orange juice has a pH (pHd) meeting the criteria: [pHi+(0.1-1)]
Abstract:
An ion exchanger configured to remove an impurity ion of a coolant for cooling a fuel cell, the ion exchanger includes an inflow portion having an inflow path where the coolant enters, a discharge portion having a discharge path for discharging the coolant, an outer casing having an upstream end where the inflow portion is provided and a downstream end where the discharge portion is provided, an inner casing housed inside the outer casing, an outer path formed between the inner casing and the outer casing to cause the inflow path and the discharge path to communicate with each other, and an inner path that is formed inside the inner casing to cause the inflow path and the discharge path to communicate with each other and is configured to enclose an ion exchange resin capable of removing an impurity ion of the coolant. The inner casing has a through-hole that causes the inner path end the outer path to communicate with each other.
