    Abstract: A mixing device for outputting wet insulation is provided. The mixing device includes a nozzle and a plurality of control apertures that control penetration of a wetting material, such as foam with a binder, into insulation particles that are being forcibly moved through the nozzle. The control apertures can be used to provide a spray output and/or control the insulation density associated with the wet insulation output by the nozzle. The control apertures can be part of a primary conduit that can be adjustable or removable relative to a receiver space of the nozzle. Depending on the relative location of the control apertures in the nozzle receiver space, a desired insulation density can be achieved. Different primary conduits can also be provided having one or more of a different number of control apertures, sizes of the control apertures and positions thereof.

    Abstract: A spray nozzle of the type adapted to feed a liquid to a material being sprayed therefrom comprises a tubular spray conduit around which is arranged an annular feed port, this feed port being closed in a liquid-tight manner by resilient material openable by liquid pressure and whose degree of opening, and therefore the quantity of liquid fed to the material, rises linearly with increasing liquid pressure. Preferably, the resilient material is provided by a membrane ring (7) which is a flat ring with inwardly-tapering radial ridges (8b) raised thereon, the gaps between the ridges being filled with an elastomeric material, such that a series of resilient segments (9) is created. Under liquid pressure, the segments are compressed equally, giving a nearly completely annular flow of liquid into the material. The nozzle is particularly useful for the spraying of concrete, especially by the dry method.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a nozzle and a nozzle mix gunning system incorporating the nozzle for pneumatically propelling dry or wetted particulate gunning material toward a substrate a distance removed from the nozzle and at an angle to the line of sight of the operator. The nozzle comprises a plurality of substantially straight tubular sections. Each section is lined with an abrasion resistant material, and joined to the other sections in a manner that produces a curvature in the nozzle.     Abstract: An air driven positive displacement pump is positioned to take a suction from a source of shotcrete accelerator. A shotcrete applicator tube receives pressurized shotcrete from a source thereof. A manifold is adapted to the applicator which has a first inlet connected to the output of the pump to receive accelerator at a pressure in excess of the pressure of the shotcrete passing through the applicator. The manifold also has a second inlet connected to an external source of compressed air to receive compressed air at a pressure higher than the pressure of the shotcrete passing through the shotcrete applicator. The manifold has a body in which the accelerator and compressed air from the first and second inlets respectively are intermixed. The manifold has at least two outlets positioned about the applicator to inject the accelerator and air mixture into shotcrete passing therethrough.
