Abstract: A method for operating a system having a sensor and/or information device and a main device is described. The sensor and/or information device includes a hand garment and a secondary device, with at least one input mechanism. The main device is connected to a database. The method includes the following steps: An actuating signal is generated using the at least one input mechanism. The actuating signal is received by the secondary device, and an input signal is transmitted on the basis of the actuating signal by the secondary device to the main device. An action instruction is generated by way of a main device based on the input signal and based on a predefined action sequence. The action instruction is transmitted to the secondary device. Moreover, a sensor and/or information device, a sensor and/or information system as well as computer programme are described.

Abstract: This application discloses a tag quantity estimation system and method of RFID. A processor-readable medium was disclosed at the same time. This estimation method applies a spatial diversity gain existing in a multi-antenna system. Separated and sequentially stacked the real parts and the imaginary parts of the multiple signals received by multiple antennas. Then, a tag quantity estimation problem is converted into a data clustering problem in high-dimensional space. In this way, the overlapped cluster data in low-dimensional space can be separated in the high-dimensional space, thereby improving the accuracy of tag quantity estimation.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method for commissioning a sensor via a communication unit includes scanning, by the communication unit, a sensor-identifying feature of the sensor to provide sensor-identifying data and sending, by the communication unit to a system controller, the sensor-identifying data. The method further includes receiving, by the communication unit from the system controller, one or more contextual prompts regarding a sensed object to which the sensor is operatively connected and, in response to the contextual prompts, sending, by the communication unit to the system controller, sensed object context information. Thereafter, the method further comprises receiving, by the communication unit from the system controller, confirmation of commissioning of the sensor. A corresponding method in the system controller, as well as corresponding apparatus, are also described.

Abstract: RFID Edge Capture eliminates the problem of over-scanning RFID tags from a phased-array RFID scanner by defining and calibrating a Capture Zone, defining an Ingress Line, and compiling Movement Events of collections of Item tags transiting the Capture Zone as aggregated by a Thresholding Algorithm. The Capture Zone may be defined by placing three or more specially designated Calibrator tags at vertices of the Capture Zone and then determining the locations of the Calibrators during a Calibration Mode. The Ingress line may be determined as a straight line between two designated Calibrators. Movement Events may be stored in a database for persistence and may be typed as ingress or egress based upon the direction of movement. Loiterers (stationary tags near a capture zone) and Drive-bys (tags that move past the Capture Zone but do not ingress or egress) may be eliminated from the data.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for assessing a physical unclonable function using a response of a fixed local environment to electromagnetic challenge signals. It comprises providing an electromagnetic challenge signal with a corresponding set of predetermined signal parameters to the local environment being in a reference state, in response to receiving the challenge signal and determining signal data of the received challenge signal, generating and transmitting a modified challenge signal with a respective set of modified signal parameters that depend on the signal data of the received challenge signal, determining the channel impulse response for the challenge signal using the received modified challenge signal; and storing the determined channel impulse response in pairwise association with the respective challenge signal, thereby increasing the unpredictability of the association between the challenge signal and the channel impulse response.
