Abstract:
A telecommunications apparatus for use with a plug having at least first, second and third pins. The telecommunications apparatus includes a plug connector for receiving the plug. The plug connector includes at least first, second and third electrical contacts for electrically contacting the first, second and third pins, respectively, when the plug is inserted in the plug connector. The plug connector also includes an electrical by-pass pathway that: i) electrically connects the first and second electrical contacts when the plug is fully removed from the plug connector such that a signal can enter the plug connector through the first contact, pass through the by-pass pathway to the second contact, and exit the plug connector through the second contact; and ii) does not electrically connect the first and second electrical contacts when the plug is fully inserted within the plug connector such that a signal can enter the plug connector through the first contact, pass through the plug to the second contact, and exit the plug connector through the second contact.
Abstract:
In addition to the single molded part incorporating features of the conventional nut, sealing member and body, the connector includes a post and a hollow compression sealing ring. The post includes an integrally formed stem and flange portions, with the compression ring axially movable upon the body and including a tapered surface which applies a radially inward force to the body, compressing the cable and providing tight frictional engagement of the connector and cable. When in its fully installed position, the axial length of the ring is sufficient to entirely enclose the unitary body and nut, preferably having an interference fit with the outer surface of the nut portion, thus locking and sealing the connector threads to the equipment port. The compression ring is preferably of metal to shield the internal plastic parts of the connector from UV rays.
Abstract:
An electronic filter comprises a housing having input and output ends. The housing has a body and a connector. The connector is located at the input end of the housing. A circuit board is located within the body. A collet assembly is located within the connector to receive electrical signals and conduct them to the circuit board. The collet assembly includes an insulator, a conductor, and an elastomeric sealing member. The insulator is located within the connector. The insulator contains a generally cylindrical opening through its length. The conductor extends through the opening of the insulator. The conductor has an input end adjacent the input end of the housing and an output end adjacent the circuit board. The conductor has a hollow interior at its input end. The sealing member surrounds the insulator in compressed engagement with the insulator and the surrounding connector.
Abstract:
A spring-loaded device is installed into a node housing at a predetermined location. The predetermined location is selected to correspond to another predetermined location into which a stinger may be installed. These predetermined locations on the node housing are selected to further correspond to a predetermined internal location of an RF interface connector. A conducting pin of the RF interface extends through a dielectric between a nail head shaped end, which provides electrical connection with the stinger projection, and an end soldered to a PCB of the amplifier. The amplifier may be installed and the node housing closed before the stinger and spring-loaded device are installed into the housing. This facilitates installation of the stinger into the housing without having to open the housing and remove the amplifier. External threads on the spring-loaded device facilitate installation thereof, but a unique torque is not required therefor.
Abstract:
A digital interface apparatus and system for cable television systems and digital service are disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing with an input and two outputs. The housing includes a surge protection circuit connected to the input and to a signal dividing circuit that is connected to an output and a filtering circuit that is connected to another output.
Abstract:
A non-interruptible tap has a non-interruptible member that is received in a lower part of the main housing and includes a support element, a pair of slide blocks, and a resilient conductive strip. The support element has holes at two ends, mounting on a first, and a second terminals respectively. The slide blocks are movably received in a slot formed between the end holes of the support element. The conductive strip is connected to the slide blocks with two ends sticking out beyond the same. The main housing further has an upper part, to which a circuit board is fitted. When the upper part is not joined to the lower part, e.g. it is removed for maintenance, the conductive strip can stretch to a normal straight shape to contact the first and the second terminals at two ends as to allow signals to be transmitted therethrough to the downstream line. When the upper part is joined to the lower part, sockets on the circuit board will mount on the terminals plus push the slide blocks towards each other, thus making the conductive strip bend and making the ends of the strip disengage from the terminals to prevent the conductive strip from interfering with the transmission of signals.
Abstract:
An adapting connector for a video machine has an S terminal, a VIDEO terminal, and two filter units connected with the S terminal and the VIDEO terminal. An older television with a VIDEO terminal is able to connect to a digital video machine with an S terminal via the video converter device. Furthermore, use of the television through the filter units of the adapting connector for a video machine is able to obtain a high quality image.
