Abstract:
A scanning apparatus has a light source part scanning a scanning beam on an original document. A frame has a light input part and a light output part. A reflection mirror is arranged in the frame and reflects the scanning beam inputted through the light input part to the light output part along a predetermined light proceeding path. A light receiving part is supported on the light output part, and receives the scanning beam reflected by the reflection mirror. A light source supporting member supports the light source part on the frame so that the beam scanned by the light source part and reflected on the original document passes through the light input part and proceeds along the light proceeding path. The light source supporting member mounts the different light source parts in the frame.
Abstract:
A structure of a line lighting device permits a rod-like light guide to be attached to a case without rubbing against the case. An end portion of the rod-like light guide provided with a pin is inserted into an opening in a case main body and pushed down, thus making the pin engage with a recess in the case main body. At this time, a distal end of the rod-like light guide is inserted, to some extent, into an opening in a light emitting unit fixing portion. Subsequently, the rod-like light guide is pushed down and pivoted around the pin so as to be completely contained within the case main body. In this state, the distal end of the rod-like light guide is fitted into the opening and the end face of the rod-like light guide is flush with the outer side face of the light emitting unit fixing portion.

The first surface part, the second surface part, and the support part are integrally formed by a light shielding material, and the first lens array plate and the second lens array plate are held by the holder by being inserted into the gap between the first surface part and the third surface part and the gap between the second surface part and the third surface part, respectively.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a light source apparatus in which wasteful cost increases can be suppressed during the manufacture of various types of light source apparatuses, and replacement of a broken light source can be performed at low cost, a recording apparatus using the light source apparatus, and an image forming apparatus comprising the recording apparatus. A plurality of optical units comprising optical members (a light source element and a lens) for outputting a single beam are combined separably in row form. A holder is used as means for holding the optical units in row form.
Abstract:
A paper-separating plate is adapted for a paper-separating mechanism having a paper-separating roller. The paper-separating plate placed around a side of the paper-separating roller comprises a main body and a cushion. The main body has a surface and a plurality of grooves and the grooves are positioned on the surface. The cushion is positioned on the surface of the main body and covers the grooves. The cushion positioned over the partial grooves is elastically pressed onto the paper-separating roller. The grooves are linear and the direction of extending the linear grooves is substantially parallel with the axis of the paper-separating roller, the linear grooves neighboring one another or each other. Besides, the cushion is made of flexible material and the main body is made of rigid material.
Abstract:
An optical alignment method is for an optical module including a housing unit, a light-sensing unit, and a lens unit. The method includes: (a) through image-capturing techniques, finding a light-sensing component of the light-sensing unit and a predetermined reference point, and determining an actual total optical path length between the light-sensing component and an object position; (b) subtracting a correction distance from the actual total optical path length to obtain a corrected total optical path length; (c) finding a first center line that divides the corrected total optical path length in half; (d) through image-capturing techniques, finding opposite first and second edges of the lens unit, and determining a lens length between the first and second edges; (e) finding a second center line that divides the lens length in half; and (f) assembling the lens unit to the housing unit such that the first and second center lines overlap.
Abstract:
An image scanning apparatus that forms an optical image of a document with an image-forming lens onto an image sensor. In order to prevent deterioration in image-forming performance, the image scanning apparatus includes a restricting member for restricting displacement of the image-forming lens in the direction of the optical axis. The restricting member is provided on a supporting member for supporting the image-forming lens and the image sensor.
Abstract:
An optical reading device of a scanning apparatus includes a housing, two movable mirror clamps and two supporting plates. The housing contains therein a light source, a mirror set, a lens and an image sensor. These two movable mirror clamps are used for clamping both edges of a specific reflective mirror of said mirror set such that the position of said specific reflective mirror is adjustable by an assembler. These two supporting plates are protruded from opposite sides of said housing for supporting said movable mirror clamps.
Abstract:
There is a problem that the contact-type image sensor, for adoption in an image input/output apparatus to input/output the image of a large-sized document, such as A0 or A1 size, is weak in lengthwise rigidity and readily deflected at its lengthwise center by its own weight. Accordingly, by attaching a deformation rectifier to the image sensor in a lengthwise direction thereof, the contact type image sensor is reinforced in lengthwise rigidity. The deformation rectifier reinforces the rigidity of the contact type image sensor, thereby preventing the contact type image sensor from deflecting vertically relative to its lengthwise direction and keeping constant the focal length between the surface of the document to be read and the sensor IC.
