Abstract:
A commercial dry-cleaning solvent filter apparatus is configured to filter and decontaminate a used dry-cleaning solvent in a specialized multi-level filtration container to enable environmentally-friendly reuse of the used dry-cleaning solvent in a commercial dry-cleaning machine after a novel decontamination process. The commercial dry-cleaning solvent filter apparatus incorporates multi-level gravity feed filtration chambers filled with a unique multi-metallic and multi-chemical filtration “clay” agent in multiple stages for comprehensive decontamination of the used dry-cleaning solvent. The filtered and decontaminated used dry-cleaning solvent is reusable and can be pumped back into a dry-cleaning solvent tank internal to the commercial dry-cleaning machine. The reuse of the dry-cleaning solvent reduces the need for frequent solvent replacements. The movement of the used dry-cleaning solvent into or out of the commercial dry-cleaning machine and the commercial dry-cleaning solvent filter apparatus is further assisted by a motorized pump mobilizing the used dry-cleaning solvent.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a composition for thy-cleaning textile articles, characterised in that it is anhydrous and in that it comprises, as an active cleaning agent: dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether, an amphiphilic solvent A chosen from the group consisting of dipropylene glycol mono-n-propyl ether, dipropylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, dipropylene glycol mono-tert-butyl ether or the mixtures thereof, and at least one dibasic ester B having a KB index higher than 30 and represented by the following general formula (I): R—O—C(═O)—(CH2)n-C(═O)—O—R′ (I) in which n is a whole number between 1 and 9; R and R′ are identical or different, each separately representing an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or an alkenyl group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms.
Abstract:
A composition for treating or cleaning fabric articles, especially articles of clothing, linen and drapery, wherein the composition comprises a lipophilic fluid, a polyalkyleneoxide polysiloxane surfactant, and a second surfactant.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for treating, refreshing or cleaning fabric articles, especially articles of clothing, linen and drapery.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to systems for controlling a drying cycle in a drying apparatus by monitoring the lipophilic fluid vapor concentration. The systems utilize a gas sensor capable of sensing the concentration of lipophilic fluid vapor in the drying apparatus drum or a combination of sensors/condition detectors, at least one of which is capable of sensing the concentration of lipophilic fluid vapor in the drying apparatus drum.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for separating water from a solvent during dry cleaning. Included is an inlet capable of receiving a mixture of dry cleaning fluid and water from a basket of a dry cleaning apparatus. The dry cleaning fluid includes a siloxane composition. Also provided is a flow controller for urging a flow of the mixture received from the outlet. Coupled to the flow controller is a coalescent media that receives the mixture urged by the flow controller. A chamber is coupled to the coalescent media for receiving the mixture from the coalescent media to separate the water and the dry cleaning fluid. Also coupled to the chamber is an outlet to remove the dry cleaning fluid from the chamber in the absence of the water.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, a dry cleaning washer and a dryer are arranged in a closed cycle system so that the effluent solvent vapor from the washer is delivered to an accumulator chamber generally simultaneously with the delivery from the dryer of effluent hot air. The hot air super heats the solvent vapor increasing its volitization and the heated and highly volatile solvent vapors are then passed to a condenser which includes the feed coils for supplying clean air to the dryer. In passing through the condenser, the super heated solvent vapor, instantly liquifies giving off its heat to the cool air, thus preheating the clean air prior to its entry into the dryer. The liquified solvent is returned to the washer, or to a storage reservoir.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process of fabric cleaning utilizing a solvent emulsion which effectively combines the dissolving and suspending power of water for hydrophilic substances with the dissolving power of organic compositions for hydrophobic substances. The factor lending economic practicability to the process is the breaking of the emulsion after it has performed its cleaning function whereby only the organic fraction thereof undergoes distillation cleansing.
Abstract:
Nitrogen trichloride produced in situ from the reaction of a chlorine source and a nitrogen source in a non-aqueous fluid is adsorbed on an adsorption media and serves to oxidize, bleach or deactivate contaminants and foreign matter of the fluid similarly adsorbed on said adsorption media.
Abstract:
Apparatus is disclosed for treating textile desizing effluent so as to provide effective pollution abatement, and to render feasible the recovery of sizing material from the effluent for reuse as well as the conditioning of the effluent so that it may be recycled for desizing purposes.
