Abstract: Polymerizable compositions are provided, including a polymerizable component and a redox initiation system. The redox initiation system includes a transition metal complex that participates in a redox cycle; an oxidizing agent; and a photolabile reducing agent containing a benzophenone moiety. On exposure to actinic radiation, such as UV, the photolabile reducing agent photolyzes, releasing the reducing agent and initiating the redox-initiated polymerization of the polymerizable component. Also provided is a photolabile reducing agent.

The function layer (150) may be applied to a surface of a receiving article (170) and the release layer (130) removed from the receiving article (170) such that the function layer (150) and second acrylate layer (140) remain on the surface of the receiving article (170).

Abstract: An optical stack for reflecting and transmitting light in a predetermined wavelength range includes stacked first and second optical films, the predetermined wavelength range defining a first wavelength range and a remaining wavelength range. For normally incident light and for each wavelength in a first wavelength range, the first optical film substantially reflects light having a first polarization state, and substantially transmits light having a second polarization state. For each of the first and second polarization states, for wavelengths in the first wavelength range, the second optical film has a maximum optical transmittance Tmax for light incident at a first incident angle, and an optical transmittance Tmax/2 for light incident at a second incident angle, where the second incident angle is greater than the first incident angle by less than about 50 degrees. For wavelengths in the remaining wavelength range, the second optical film reflects at least 80% of light.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method of making an abrasive layer on a backing is disclosed. The method can comprise: providing a distribution tool having a dispensing surface with cavities, providing a backing having a first major surface, supplying magnetizable abrasive particles to the dispensing surface such that at least one of the magnetizable abrasive particles is disposed in a respective one of the cavities, applying a magnetic field to retain the magnetizable abrasive particles disposed in the cavities, aligning the backing with the dispensing surface with the first major surface facing the dispensing surface, transferring the magnetizable abrasive particles from the cavities to the backing, sequent to or simultaneous with transferring the abrasive particles, removing or changing a magnetic field so the magnetic field no longer retains the magnetizable abrasive particles in the cavities.

A peel adhesion of the pressure sensitive adhesive to glass decreases at least about 20% after being exposed to light radiation.

Abstract: A shielded electrical cable includes conductor sets extending along a length of the cable and spaced apart from each other along a width of the cable. First and second shielding films are disposed on opposite sides of the cable and include cover portions and pinched portions arranged such that, in transverse cross section, the cover portions of the films in combination substantially surround each conductor set. An adhesive layer bonds the shielding films together in the pinched portions of the cable. A transverse bending of the cable at a cable location of no more than 180 degrees over an inner radius of at most 2 mm causes a cable impedance of the selected insulated conductor proximate the cable location to vary by no more than 2 percent from an initial cable impedance measured at the cable location in an unbent configuration.
