Abstract: A method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescence display panel includes: forming pixel electrodes in matrix on a substrate; arranging column banks extending in column direction above the substrate along row direction, the banks each being between adjacent pixel electrodes in the row direction; applying ink containing organic light emitting material to gaps between adjacent banks, the applied ink being continuous in the column direction; reducing pressure of atmosphere including the substrate to first pressure while positioning a rectifying plate at first distance from upper surface of the substrate, the plate covering region with the ink applied on the substrate; reducing, after the reducing, the pressure to second pressure, which is lower than the first pressure, or lower while positioning the plate at second distance, which is greater than the first distance, from the surface; heating the substrate to form organic functional layer; and forming counter electrode above the functional layer.

Abstract: A light-emitting display device includes an element-formation substrate and a plurality of pixels. The element-formation substrate includes a first barrier film and a second barrier film provided on a substrate, the first barrier film and the second barrier film being provided in the stated order from the substrate and suppressing ingress of moisture. The plurality of pixels is provided on the element-formation substrate. The element-formation substrate further includes an organic part that fills a crack occurred in the first barrier film, or that is attached around a part of a metallic foreign substance protruding from the first barrier film.

Abstract: A thin-film transistor substrate includes a pixel circuit, an interlayer insulating film, electrodes, and a hard mask metal. The pixel circuit includes a thin film transistor. The interlayer insulating film has contact holes and covers the pixel circuit. The electrodes are exposed above a surface of the interlayer insulating film, and electrically coupled to the pixel circuit via the contact holes. The hard mask metal has openings at portions facing the contact holes and is provided on the surface of the interlayer insulating film.

Abstract: A plurality of light emitters emitting different colors of light in a light-emitting device is provided on a surface of a substrate along two dimensions. Each light emitter includes a first electrode, a first charge injection/transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an intermediate layer, a second charge injection/transport layer, and a second electrode. The intermediate layer includes a fluoride of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal. Among the first electrode and the second electrode, one electrode is light reflective and another electrode is light transmissive. Among the first charge injection/transport layer and the second charge injection/transport layer, one charge injection/transport layer is disposed between the light-emitting layer and the light reflective electrode, and thickness of the one charge injection/transport layer included in the first light emitter is different from thickness of the one charge injection/transport layer included in the second light emitter.

Abstract: A patterning device performs patterning in manufacture of a display panel in which thin films including an organic film are laminated above a substrate. The patterning device includes a chamber, light transmissive plates, and a laser emitter. The chamber has a light transmissive window including a first light transmissive plate through which a laser beam is transmitted and accommodates a thin film laminated substrate. A second light transmissive plate through which the laser beam is transmitted is in the chamber between the first light transmissive plate and the thin film laminated substrate at a position spaced away from the thin film laminated substrate. The laser emitter is outside the chamber and emits the laser beam towards the thin film laminated substrate, through the first light transmissive plate and the second light transmissive plate, to irradiate and remove a portion of the thin film.

Abstract: An ink drying process includes exhausting gas from atmosphere surrounding a substrate and drying ink through placing the substrate in a predefined pressure or less to form organic functional layers. Exhausting of gas includes: reducing, during a first period, pressure of the atmosphere from standard atmospheric pressure to a first pressure higher than vapor pressure of solvent having the highest vapor pressure among solvents of the ink; and subsequently reducing, during a second period, the pressure of the atmosphere to a second pressure lower than vapor pressure of solvent having the lowest vapor pressure among the solvents. Where pressure of the atmosphere is 10x Pa (X indicating a real number), a change amount average of X per unit time has a greater absolute value during the second period than during the first period.
