Abstract: An HMD includes: a camera configured to image an external landscape; a camera abnormality detector configured to detect operation abnormality of the camera; a sensor group configured to detect a position, a distance, and the like of an object within the external landscape; a sensor abnormality detector configured to detect operation abnormality of the sensor group; an image generator configured to generate an image; and a mode switcher configured to switch a processing mode of the image generator. The image generator has an AR advanced processing mode of generating a high-accuracy AR advanced image by using image data captured by the camera and detection data detected by the sensor group, and an AR simple processing mode of generating AR simple image simpler than the AR advanced image. When an operation of the camera or the sensor group is abnormal, the mode switcher switches into the AR simple processing mode.

Abstract: A modulator of a distance measuring sensor unit 102 has a photographing pattern that includes a plurality of patterns different from each other, and modulates intensity of light. A gesture detecting unit divides image data obtained by receiving light transmitted through the modulator by the image sensor; restores an image by calculation based on a developing pattern corresponding to the photographing pattern in a divided unit; and obtains an image for detecting gesture of a user. This makes it possible to obtain an image of an object in an outside world without using a lens for forming an image. Therefore, it is possible to reduce a load on a user when the user wears the apparatus.

Abstract: The MR display device includes a controller and a display unit. The controller recognizes a reality object from a reality video imaged by a camera and links a predetermined virtual object to the reality object based on an operation of an experiencing person. The display unit displays a video of the linked virtual object. The controller acquires a recognition result of a reality object generated by the other MR display device and data of the linked virtual object, via a communication unit, synthesizes the acquired data and the own data, and displays a video obtained by the synthesis on the display unit. In addition, the controller allows an edit of the virtual object linked to the reality object on the video displayed on the display unit, based on an operation of the experiencing person.
