    Abstract: Provided is a technique for more favorably transmitting or receiving an advanced digital broadcasting service. For example, a broadcast receiving apparatus includes a receiver, a monitor, a controller, and an operation unit, the receiver receives broadcasting waves of digital broadcasting including a 2K broadcasting program and a 4K broadcasting program transmitted by simultaneous broadcasting from a broadcast station side, the monitor displays the broadcasting program based on the received broadcasting wave, and when an operation to select the other broadcasting program of paired broadcasting programs that have the same broadcasting content and are transmitted by the simultaneous broadcasting is received from the operation unit in a state where one broadcasting program of the paired broadcasting programs and a special screen which is a data broadcasting screen or a hybrid casting screen corresponding to the broadcasting program are displayed, the controller executes a first display controlling process of controlling the display to display the other broadcasting program and to maintain the display of the special screen.
