Abstract:
A device for dispensing microdoses of aqueous solutions are provided, whereby the substance is transferred by the free surface end of a rodlike transferring element; the temperature of the transferring element is maintained at essentially the dew point of the ambient air during the transfer. The device may comprise a plate-like base to which are affixed a plurality of rods; the unfixed butt ends of the rods are coplanar. The device further comprises a means for maintaining the temperature of the unfixed butt ends of the rods essentially equal to the dew point of the ambient air during transfer of the aqueous substance.
Abstract:
In an exemplary aspect, the invention provides a fluid distribution system including a first fluid path, and a second fluid path that is laterally spaced-apart from the first fluid path. A third fluid path connects the first and the second fluid paths. A valve is provided that is axially translatable through a third fluid path between a first position and a second position. In a first position, the valve is removed from the third fluid path, and in the second position, the valve substantially fills the third fluid path.
Abstract:
A drop former includes an outer rotary steel body having circumferentially spaced openings which successively reach a lower discharge position to enable viscous material to drop onto a cooling conveyor from within the outer body. An inner steel body, which can be stationary or rotating, is situated within the outer body to direct viscous material to the openings as the openings reach the discharge portion. An electrical inductive heating coil is situated adjacent one or both of the bodies to inductively heat the body, avoiding excessive heating of the viscous material.
Abstract:
A valve for metering a slurry includes a primary flow path for directing a continual flow of slurry through the valve, a valve stem which extends through the primary flow path and engages a passage in a valve seat for metering a portion of slurry passing through the primary flow path out through a second outlet in the valve. A portion of the valve stem which engages the valve seat passage is cut-away and when placed in communication with the primary flow path allows the flushing of accumulated solids through the valve seat passage to avoid persistent plugging of the valve.
Abstract:
A fluid delivery system is provided to deliver precise volumes of a plurality of fluid in sequence to one or more treatment reservoirs. Fluid channels are formed in a plate structure to provide a means for delivering fluids from a plurality of fluid reservoirs to one or a plurality of treatment reservoirs. Each fluid is delivered by a system comprising a pneumatically or electrically activated inlet valve in fluid communication with a fluid reservoir, a positive displacement pump in fluid communication with the inlet valve and a pneumatically or electrically activated outlet valve in fluid communication with the positive displacement pump.
Abstract:
An integrated fluid dispense apparatus (10) suitable for delivering ultrapure fluids. The fluid is confined to a nonrigid hermetic fluid delivery apparatus (10). A pumping mechanism (11) pumps fluids in precise volumes and flow rates. A moisturizing dispense nozzle (12) provides a saturated vapor atmosphere at the nozzle tip to prevent the fluid from drying during non-dispense periods.
Abstract:
A metering apparatus has a metering chamber which has at least one boundary surface in the form of a flexible diaphragm. The diaphragm is operatively connected to an actuating device so that the volume of the chamber for metering and deliveirng the substance can be varied. An inlet opening and an outlet opening in the metering chamber can preferably be closed off directly by the diaphragm, more specifically by means of closure devices arranged in the region of those openings. The metering apparatus is particularly suitable for die bonders for the delivery of a bonding agent onto a substrate which is then equipped with electronic components.
Abstract:
In a method of applying a precisely measured quantity of grease to a desired part, the grease is stored and leveled in an open grease storing container at all times, and a grease applying pin is dipped into the grease through its surface and pulled out of the grease and then moved so that the grease on the grease applying pin is applied to the desired part, whereby the grease is maintained high in quality and the quantity of grease applied does not fluctuate.
Abstract:
An apparatus for supplying an accurately measured volume of liquid, comprising a vessel filled with the liquid, a cylinder loosely and slidably fitted into the vessel from above, and a sealing box at the top of the vessel sealing the vertical motion of the cylinder. The sealing box has a liquid discharge port at a bottom edge. A drive shaft, preferably screw driven, moves the cylinder vertically downward.
Abstract:
A metering-type dispenser device, of integrated nature having its own liquid reservoir, particularly for the metered dispensing of liquid reagents in a chemical assay, in which there is an independence of the liquid reservoir from any pressure such as used in activating the pumping stroking of the pumping head member of the device.
