Abstract:
A method for the preparation of carbon nanotube modified fluids such, that the dispersion of nanotubes in such fluids, exampled by those which are oil based is enhanced through the combined use of mechanical, sonic and ultrasonic devices.
Abstract:
The invention provides a grease composition comprising a base oil consisting of a fluorinated oil and an antirust agent, wherein said antirust agent comprises an aliphatic dibasic acid salt of the formula (1) in an amount of not less than 0.1% by mass and less than 1.0% by mass based on the total mass of the grease composition: (CH2)n(COO)2Mm (1) wherein n is an integer of 1 to 19, M is an alkali or alkaline earth metal, m is 2 when M is an alkali metal and m is 1 when M is an alkaline earth metal, and a bearing wherein the grease is packed. The grease exerts less effects on the environment. It is low in evaporation loss at a high temperature, shows good antirust property and can be suitably used in a ball bearing operated at a high temperature.
Abstract:
A thermally conductive silicone grease composition comprising at least the following components: an organopolysiloxane (A) represented by the following general formula: [wherein R1 designates identical or different univalent hydrocarbon groups; X designates identical or different univalent hydrocarbon groups or alkoxysilyl-containing groups of the following general formula: —R2—SiR1a(OR3)(3-a) (wherein R1 designates the previously mentioned groups; R2 designates oxygen atoms or alkylene groups; R3 designates alkyl groups; and ‘a’ is an integer ranging from 0 to 2); and ‘m’ and ‘n’ are integers equal to or greater than 0, respectively]; a thermally conductive filler (B); and an organopolysiloxane (C) having silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms on both molecular terminals and in the molecular chains; is characterized by excellent resistance to heat and reduced oil bleeding.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to greases containing metal sulfonate thickeners. In one example the thickener may be a calcium sulfonate thickener. In other examples grease may contain a combination of a metal sulfonate thickener and another thickener, such as a metal complex soap grease, detergent, or non-soap thickener. The grease may be formulated to meet specific performance criteria relevant to lubrication of a roller cone drill bit in downhole conditions. The disclosure also relates to a roller cone drill bit containing a grease of the disclosure.
Abstract:
Provided is a heat conductive silicone grease composition, including: (A) 100 parts by volume of an organopolysiloxane with a specific structure and with a kinematic viscosity at 25° C. of 10 to 10,000 mm2/s, (B) 0.1 to 50 parts by volume of an alkoxysilane with a specific structure, and (C) 100 to 2,500 parts by volume of a heat conductive filler. The composition exhibits high thermal conductivity, retains excellent fluidity meaning the composition exhibits favorable workability, and is capable of filling fine indentations, thereby reducing contact resistance and providing excellent heat radiation performance. Also, the durability, under conditions of high temperature and high humidity, of the composition is improved, thereby improving the reliability of the composition during actual use. Heat generated by a heat-generating body can be dissipated into a heat-radiating body by sandwiching the composition between the heat-generating body and the heat-radiating body.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of ionic liquids for production of water-resistant lubricating grease compositions, which are used in a temperature range from at least 30° C. to at least 180° C. and have good anticorrosion properties.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to enhanced compositions that facilitate the pulling of cables through conduits. In one embodiment, the composition comprises a sufficient amount of boron nitride, which, upon application onto the cable surface, allows the cable to be pulled faster and/or with less force through the conduit than without the boron nitride present. The invention further relates to a method for pulling cables through conduits by applying an effective amount of boron nitride composition onto the cable surface. Lastly, the invention relates to an apparatus for distributing a cable-pulling composition comprising a block of boron nitride onto a cable as it is being pulled through a conduit.

Abstract:
A silicone grease composition comprising 3-30 wt % of an organopolysiloxane and 60-96.9 wt % of a heat conductive filler is diluted with a least volatile isoparaffin having a boiling point of 260-360° C. Despite a heavy loading of heat conductive filler, the grease composition is easily applicable to heat sinks as a thin uniform coating. The composition is drastically increased in shelf stability at room temperature, easy to handle, and provides for good heat dissipation.
