Abstract:
Disclosed are a fixing device and a refrigerator having the same. The fixing device includes a clasp (400) installed to a first member (12), the clasp having a contact portion (402, 404) defining a plane, and a coupler (500) installed to a second member (100), the coupler serving to fix the second member to the first member to enable selective coupling or release of the second member and the first member. The coupler includes a hook (510) having a protruding tip portion (511) configured to come into contact with the contact portions (402, 404) so as to be caught by the contact portion (404), the hook being rotatable, and an elastic member (52,0) configured to elastically support the hook such that the hook is rotated toward the clasp. A contact position of the protruding tip portion and the contact portion is spaced apart from a rotation center of the hook by a predetermined distance (d).

Abstract:
An insulating material that tends not to hydrolyze is used to thereby provide a heat pump apparatus having long-term reliability. An electric motor of a compressor is fixed to a sealed container and includes a stator around which a winding wire is wound through intermediation of an insulating material, and a rotor surrounded by the stator. The insulating material is a wholly aromatic liquid crystal polyester (LCP) having a molecular main chain constituted by a monomer including p-hydroxybenzoic acid (PHB) as an essential monomer and a monomer solely including benzene-ring as another monomer via an ester bond. The refrigerating machine oil has a saturated water content of 2% or less at 40 degrees C., a relative humidity of 80%, for 24 Hr. To suppress the explosive decomposition reaction of ethylene-based fluorohydrocarbon, a flame retardant is used to generate chemical species that complement active radicals that cause the decomposition reaction.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a refrigerator; a lighting device provided in the storage chamber, a first door rotatably coupled to the case to open and close the storage chamber, an auxiliary storage chamber provided in the first door, a second door, a front panel formed of a transparent material, an evaporation treatment unit evaporated on an overall back surface of the front panel to transmit lights partially, a variable transparency film attached to a back surface of the evaporation treatment unit provided in the front panel to get transparent when the power is supplied, a frame unit with an opening having a corresponding size to an opening provided in the first door, an insulation panel distant from the front panel, a power supply unit for supplying an electric power to the variable transparency film and the lighting device, a proximity sensor provided in the second door to sense a user's approaching.
Abstract:
An insulated icemaking compartment is provided in the fresh food compartment of a bottom mount refrigerator. The icemaking compartment may be integrally formed with the liner of the fresh food compartment, or alternatively, may be modular for installation anywhere in the fresh food compartment. A removable bin assembly with a front cover normally seals the icemaking compartment to maintain the temperature in the compartment. A cold air duct formed in the rear wall of the refrigerator supplies cold air from the freezer compartment to the icemaking compartment. A return air duct directs a portion of the air from the icemaking compartment back to the freezer compartment. An air vent in the icemaking compartment directs another portion of air into the fresh food compartment. A control system provides for controlling refrigerator functions in a manner that promotes energy efficiency.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional (3D) vacuum insulation panel (VIP) and a folding approach to create the 3D VIP from a two-dimensional (2D) VIP of non-uniform thickness for a refrigerator, a refrigerator freezer or a non-appliance, are disclosed. The folding approach includes placing a VIP main panel and a plurality of VIP wall panels on an outer film, where one or more panels are of a greater thickness than other VIP panels; placing an inner film on top of the VIP main and wall panels and sealing the films together. The inner film is longer than the outer film and this allows the films and the VIP wall panels to be folded into a finished panel, wherein the longer inner film allows for fording without causing tears or micro-cracks in the film that would adversely affect the insulation properties of the three-dimensional (3D) VIP.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a refrigerator in which a level difference between an inner cabinet and an outer cabinet is improved in coupling the inner cabinet with the outer cabinet by forming a corner of the inner cabinet located at a portion coupled with the outer cabinet to have a smaller radius. The refrigerator includes an inner cabinet in which a storage chamber is formed. The refrigerator also includes an outer cabinet coupled with an outside of the inner cabinet and configured to form an exterior. The refrigerator further includes an insulating material filling between the inner cabinet and the outer cabinet. The inner cabinet includes a storage portion configured to form the storage chamber. The inner cabinet also includes an edge portion configured to extend in a vertical direction toward the outside of the storage portion from a front surface edge of the storage portion and exposed to the outside. The inner cabinet further includes a contact portion configured to extend in a vertical direction toward a rear direction from the edge portion and in contact with the outer cabinet when coupling with the outer cabinet. The inner cabinet includes a seating portion disposed in a rear direction of a front surface portion of the outer cabinet in contact with the contact portion and in parallel with the edge portion. The contact portion extends in a rear direction more than an end of the seating portion adjacent to the contact portion from the edge portion.
Abstract:
A refrigerator and a control method for the same are disclosed. The refrigerator includes a storage compartment formed in a cabinet of the refrigerator by a fixed insulation wall, the storage compartment being provided with an access opening, a door rotatably provided to the cabinet to open and close the access opening, a drawer provided in the storage compartment, a camera fixed to a ceiling of the storage compartment to photograph both a region (a first region) for storing of food arranged in an external space of the drawer in the storage compartment and a region (a second region) for storing of food arranged in an internal space of the drawer in the storage compartment, and a controller to separate, through a capturing time of a picture containing both the first region and the second region, a portion for the first region (a first region picture) and a portion for the second region (a second region picture) from the picture to individually divide and store the first region picture and the second region picture.
Abstract:
A portable ice barrel system composed of collapsible components configured to form a cylindrical insulation layer that also forms an opening at the top of the barrel. The base includes a grid, a disc, a rim, and a series of wheels. An inner liner extends into the opening of the cylindrical insulation layer to form an interior barrel cavity and an exterior barrel wall. The portable ice barrel may include a plurality of clips for holding the inner liner onto the cylindrical insulation layer, an expandable bladder or an insulative material injected into a gap between an inside surface of the exterior wall and an exterior surface of the expandable bladder to form an insulative layer, a plurality of sections that form an inner cylindrical insulation layer, and/or a hinged top and a hinged base that can be collapsed when deconfigured and shipped in a flat configuration.
