A terminal device as a control device is provided with a CPU including: an obtaining unit for obtaining screen information from an MFP; a first display unit for displaying an operation screen based on the screen information; a first transmission unit for transmitting, to the MFP, position information based on a user's instruction to the operation screen; a determination unit for determining whether a state change influencing communication with MFP occurs or not; a second display unit for displaying an alternative screen generated based on the screen information; a storage unit for storing a parameter based on a user's instruction to the alternative screen; and a second transmission unit for transmitting the stored parameter to the MFP.

A system for controlling effects performed on an image includes a digital camera having a display that displays the image. Masking tools position graphical representations on the display to define a portion of the image that is altered when the effects are subsequently applied to the image. The several masking tools may be combined to form a single masking tool.

In an image processing method in which a plurality of image processing apparatuses perform image processing in cooperation with each other, an image processing apparatus that issues a job sends an announcement notice informing that the job will be sent to image processing apparatuses designated to perform image processing in cooperation. When an image processing apparatus that has received the announcement notice receives a request to display job status from a user, it requests other image processing apparatuses that work in cooperation for job status information based on the announcement notice. Upon receiving responses to the request, the image processing apparatus notifies a user of the job status information.

A disclosed managing apparatus and image forming apparatus management system ensure confidentiality of information in an image forming apparatus while usability is maintained. An image forming apparatus acquires IC card identifying information with an IC card reader. A management server acquires a user ID associated with the acquired IC card identifying information and use limit information concerning use of the image forming apparatus. A process is performed in the image forming apparatus in accordance with the use limit information.

The user of the camcorder transmits images picked up by the user to the camcorder image station so that the images are registered into a predetermined album.
