Abstract:
A storage information update method, an image forming apparatus, a system for managing the image forming apparatus, and a mobile device are provided. The method is performed by an image forming apparatus to which at least one identification number is assigned, a storage configured to store the identification number of the image forming apparatus, and a terminal device communicable with the storage. The method includes acquiring, by the terminal device, the at least one identification number of the image forming apparatus and transmitting, by the terminal device, the received at least one identification number to the storage.
Abstract:
A system for publishing digital images wherein a mobile device (14) that stores at least one digital image generates output signals in response to operator commands. The mobile device (14) communicates with a source of digital instructions (18) thorough a communication network (16) such that digital instructions are downloaded to the mobile device. The mobile device is thereafter in selective communication with a server (12) that stores digital images, maintains a user profile corresponding to the user of the mobile device, and publishes digital images to at least one digital address (24, 26, 28, 30).
Abstract:
This invention provides a technique in which even if a job by a processing apparatus is interrupted during execution, another apparatus continues the processing using completely the same function without further billing the user. Upon receiving a print job, a printing apparatus executes billing processing for the job, in which the printing apparatus communicates with a billing server. The printing apparatus writes, in the memory of an NFC unit, setting values about the received print job, the identification information of the printing apparatus itself, and the identification information of another alternative processing apparatus. While executing the print job, the printing apparatus writes progress information about an unprocessed portion of the job in the memory of the NFC unit every time a preset processing unit is executed during execution of the job.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a finger receiving portion that is inwardly recessed and defined in each of right and left side-surfaces of a housing of the image forming apparatus. The housing includes an upper surface that is inclined downward toward the front of the image forming apparatus. The finger receiving portion is disposed in an upper part of each of the right and left side-surfaces of the housing and at a position that allows a user to hold both of the finger receiving portion and the upper surface of the housing at the same time.
Abstract:
A method of stitching frames of a video sequence to image a target document. The method comprises capturing a group of frames of a video sequence using an image sensor of a handheld device having a display, during the capturing, analyzing the video sequence to select iteratively a group of the frames, each member of the group depicts another of segments of a target document, during the capturing, sequentially presenting a plurality maneuvering indications, each the maneuvering indication is presented after a certain frame depicting a certain of the segments is captured and indicative of a maneuvering gesture required for bringing the image sensor to capture another frame depicting another segment of the segments, the another segment being complementary and adjacent to the certain segment, and stitching members of the group to create a mosaic image depicting the target document as a whole.
Abstract:
A system and method for processing an image of a document is disclosed. The method includes receiving at least one predetermined document parameter of the document. An image of the document is previewed on a display using a camera. The display provides a visual indication of a defect in the image based on the preview. A processor proposes a procedure to minimize the defect in the image. A user adjusts the camera in response to the proposal. The processor processes the image of the document.
Abstract:
An authentication processing portion of an MFP requests user authentication to a server based on user information including at least a user ID input from a mobile terminal apparatus or an operation panel. The server has a user authentication portion which performs the user authentication and a UI instruction portion which specifies, when the user authentication succeeds, a UI image displayed on a display panel of the apparatus for operating the MFP depending on the user ID, and instructs the MFP to display the UI image on the apparatus. The MFP executes image output in accordance with a user operation received from the apparatus through the wireless communication portion in a state where the UI image is displayed on the apparatus.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a first wireless communication unit that receives data from a mobile phone, and a reader-writer that transmits an address of the first wireless communication unit to the mobile phone. The mobile phone includes a contact/non-contact IC card that receives the address, and a second wireless communication unit that transmits image data to the first wireless communication unit utilizing the address. When communication is made between the mobile phone and the image forming apparatus, the address of the first wireless communication unit is transmitted to the contact/non-contact IC card through the reader-writer, and the second wireless communication unit transmits data to the first wireless communication unit utilizing the address.
Abstract:
A terminal apparatus may receive first information relating to a first function executing apparatus from the first function executing apparatus. The first function executing apparatus may be configured to execute a scan function. The terminal apparatus may cause a display mechanism of the terminal apparatus to display a first image indicating M1 items of communication schemes by using the first information. Each of the M1 items of communication schemes may be a communication scheme available for the first function executing apparatus to send scan data.
Abstract:
A limiting member (91) includes a main body (911) and a convexity (912) formed at the upper face of the main body (911). The convexity (912) protrudes like a key toward the front-face side of a case (1). The case (1) has a hole (92) storing the limiting member (91), the hole (92) having an inclined face (921) that is inclined obliquely upward from the rear-face side to the front-face side of the case (1). The hole (92) has a depth larger than the height of the limiting member (91) on the rear-face side, and has substantially the same depth as the front-face side height of the main body (911) on the front-face side. A document cover (4) has a hole (93) including a U-shaped concavity (931) that is open on the rear-face side of the case (1), formed on the front-face side of the case (1). When the limiting member (91) is located on the front-face side of the case (1), the convexity (912) engages with the U-shaped concavity (931).
