Abstract: A method for synchronizing an input data stream with an output data stream in a video processor. The method includes receiving an input data stream and receiving an output data stream, wherein the input data stream and the output data stream each comprise a plurality of pixels. The method further includes sequentially storing pixels of the input data stream using an input buffer and sequentially storing pixels of the output data stream using an output buffer. Timing information is determined by examining the input data stream and the output data stream. A synchronization adjustment is applied to the input buffer and the output buffer in accordance with the timing information. Pixels are output from the input buffer and the output buffer to produce a synchronized mixed video output stream.

Abstract: IGMP is a protocol for managing and controlling multicast of data streams to a plurality of end users connected to a telecommunications network through an access system. A novel implementation of IGMP for multicasting data streams in an XDSL access network system is disclosed. DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Asynchronous Multiplexer) or ASAM (ATM Subscriber Access Multiplexer) is used in the access network system and interfaces between the telecommunications network and the plurality of end users. IGMP signals are terminated at LT (Line Termination). A better scalability of the access system can be achieved, resulting in increased numbers of end users.

Abstract: The balustrade and decks of an escalator or moving walkway are mounted on a conveyor truss via a plurality of anchor brackets which are welded to the truss at spaced apart locations thereon. Template brackets are secured to each anchor bracket to define the location of the outer deck, the inner top shirt panel, the balustrade clamps, and the return path handrail guides. Skirt jack bolt mounts are mounted on the anchor brackets below the return path of the handrail and are operable to provide for proper positioning of the inner side skirt panels relative to the steps. The handrail can be easily released from its return guides and removed from the interior of the decking by removing the inner top skirt panel. The assembly can be easily erected in the field and readily serviced.

Abstract: A stoma stent system for treating patients after tracheostomy and maintenance of a tracheastomy tract includes a tubular stent for insertion in the trachea and several plug components which may be inserted into the open, free end of the stent for several functions. For example, a plug may have several inserts for progressively constricting air flow through the stent to wean the patient off the stent. The same, or another plug may include a vapor source for transferring moisture from exhaled air to inhaled air. A third plug may include a check valve which blocks exhaled air and redirects the air toward the vocal cords to permit the patient to speak and cough.

Abstract: The outer and inner side decks of a curved escalator are connected at its inner end to the balustrade, and includes a horizontal top panel which extends outwardly away from the balustrade, and outer vertical curved in plan side panel which extends downwardly from the outer edge of the top panel. These deck panels are secured to inner support components of the deck. The corner of the deck where the top and side panels meet is covered with a plastic trim molding which covers the screws fastening the side panel to the underlying supports, and which snaps onto catches which are hidden on the underside of the top panel. Abstract: An escalator is provided with a curved path of travel from its entry to its exit landings. The path of travel of the escalator steps as seen in plan is a curve having a fixed center and a constant radius from landing to landing. In elevation, each landing portion will be disposed in vertically spaced horizontal planes, and there will be a medial constant slope ascending or descending portion. Interconnecting each landing portion with the constant slope portion will be entry and exit transitional curved portions of varying slope as seen in the elevational view. To enable the steps to traverse the curved path successfully, the effective length of the outer of the step chains is varied at different points along the path of travel of the escalator.
