Abstract: A method for identifying keypoints in a digital image including a set of pixels. Each pixel has associated thereto a respective value of an image representative parameter. The method includes approximating a filtered image. The filtered image depends on a filtering parameter and includes for each pixel of the image a filtering function that depends on the filtering parameter to calculate a filtered value of the value of the representative parameter of the pixel. The approximating includes: a) generating a set of base filtered images; each base filtered image is the image filtered with a respective value of the filtering parameter; b) for each pixel of at least a subset of the set of pixels, approximating the filtering function by a respective approximation function based on the base filtered images; the approximation function is a function of the filtering parameter within a predefined range of the filtering parameter.

Abstract: A method for estimating a quality of experience of a user receiving an information content stream distributed through a telecommunications network is provided comprising: generating a user behavior model, depicting a behavior of the user in the interaction with the telecommunications network; implementing the user behavior model by selecting combinations of user behavior; providing monitoring units adapted to perform measures on specific parameters of the information content stream; setting the monitoring; assigning to the monitoring units test cycles comprising interaction operations with the telecommunications network; generating for each monitoring unit a corresponding script to be executed by the monitoring unit; at the monitoring units, carrying out the test cycles by running the generated scripts, and carrying out measurements on parameters of the information content stream received in response to the test cycles to obtain acquired measured values, and calculating quality of experience indicators by processing the acquired measured values.

Abstract: A method for selecting routing paths of data packets in a data network including plural communication links and routing apparatuses. The method includes: calculating and assigning to the communication links respective communication links' costs; calculating, for at least two different routing paths, respective routing path overall costs, which depend on the communication links' costs assigned to communication links making up such routing path; selecting, among the at least two different routing paths, the routing path having the lower routing path overall cost; causing a new data packet to be routed in the data network over the selected routing path, and collecting measures indicative of at least one performance parameter indicating a performance of previous transmissions of data packets from origin end points of the data network to destination end points of the data network, and using the collected measures for calculating the communication links' costs.

Abstract: A method for allocating resource blocks on a cellular network including transceiver stations to provide cell coverage for allowing user equipment within the cell to exchange data via uplink or downlink. The operations include listing user equipment requiring resource blocks in a priority list; b) for the user equipment listed in the priority list, executing operations b1) and b2) or b1) and b3): b1) selecting a set of resource blocks including at least one resource block; b2) if the selected set of resource blocks has not been assigned to other user equipment, assigning to the user equipment the selected set of resource blocks; b3) if the selected set of resource blocks has been assigned to other user equipment, replacing the user equipment from the priority list with user equipment in a collision list.

Abstract: A system for managing devices supplied through a power grid is proposed. Each device is configured to consume over time electric power according to at least one respective power profile when operating. The system comprises at least one unit interfaced with the devices for exchanging data. The at least one unit collects power profile data indicative of the power profiles of the devices, and generates a time schedule of the device operations by distributing over time start times of the power profiles in such a way that at any time the total power consumption of the devices is kept under a maximum power threshold of the power grid.

Abstract: A method for serving an aggregate flow in a communication network node includes a plurality of individual flows. The method includes identifying in the aggregate flow, based on serving resources allocated to the network node, individual flows that may be served without substantial detriment to perceived performance, and serving the identified individual flows with priority with respect to the remaining individual flows in the aggregate flow. The method allows the presence of individual flows that may not be served without substantial detriment to perceived performance due to shortage of serving resources to be notified to an external control entity.

Abstract: An iterative receiver is proposed for receiving in a cell a signal and for providing information carried on the signal by execution of at least one processing iteration. The receiver includes an estimate assembly for receiving the signal and providing, at each one of the processing iterations, a respective information estimate; a regeneration assembly for receiving, at each processing iteration, the information estimate provided by the estimate assembly at that iteration, and for providing a regenerated signal therefrom based on the information estimate and on attenuation of radio channels over which the signal has been transmitted; an interference estimate unit for providing, at each iteration, an interference estimate based on the signal and the regenerated signal, the estimate assembly providing, starting from a second processing iteration of the processing iterations, the information estimate based on the interference estimate; and an extraction unit for extracting the information from the information estimate.
