Abstract:
Mechanisms for light management include a light emitting diode (LED) light bulb. The LED light bulb includes multiple light emitting diodes (LEDs) configured for illumination in the LED light bulb and includes a battery. A base is configured to fit a standard socket designed for an incandescent light bulb, and the base is configured to operatively connect to an electrical power source. A module is operative to detect a residual voltage of the power source when a control for powering the LED light bulb is powered off. The module is configured to determine that a power outage occurred and operative to switch to battery power from the battery in response to not detecting the residual voltage of the power source.
Abstract:
Methods, computer program products and systems for providing video tracking. The method includes receiving a first signal from a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag. A location of the RFID tag is determined in response to the first signal. An image that includes the location of the RFID tag is recorded. The location of the RFID tag is marked on the image, resulting in a marked image.
Abstract:
A processing system of a carrier transport vehicle including at least one processor may obtain a notification of a luggage item to be placed in a stowage bin of the carrier transport vehicle, the notification including an identifier of the luggage item, detect, via the identifier of the luggage item, that the luggage item is proximate to the stowage bin, where the identifier of the luggage item is obtained via a wireless signal from the luggage item, and present at least one visual indicator associated with the stowage bin, in response to the detecting that the luggage item is proximate to the stowage bin.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes a solution to enable more useful and responsive methods for a person's wishes for resuscitation actions to be canceled or discontinued in the event of a medical event. In this solution, a person can record their do not resuscitate (DNR) wishes with more specificity. For instance, they can specify conditions for treatment or non-treatment in the event of a medical emergency that would otherwise call for live-saving procedures or the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) device. Conditional DNR data can be recorded in an electronic device (e.g., emergency pendant or smart watch, or in an electronic device) implanted within or on the person's body. This data can also be stored in a database accessible via a network.
Abstract:
A processing system including at least one processor may detect a first location and a first orientation of an augmented reality endpoint device of a user at a venue, identify an entryway of a first enclosed space of the venue that is within a first field-of-view of the augmented reality endpoint device in accordance with the first location and the first orientation of the augmented reality endpoint device, and present, via the augmented reality endpoint device, first visual information of the first enclosed space. The first visual information may include first imagery of the first enclosed space and may be presented within the first field-of-view.
Abstract:
The concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to guidance rule-based compliance management. According to one aspect disclosed herein, an integrated technology catalog system (“system”) can provide an interface through which a technology catalog can be accessed to view a technology product and evaluate the technology product in a given context. The system can receive, via the interface, a request to evaluate the technology product in the given context. In response to the request, the system can identify whether at least one guidance rule is applicable to the technology product in the given context. In response to identifying that the at least one guidance rule is applicable to the technology product in the given context, the system can generate a report for the technology product. The report can include all applicable guidance rules for the technology product. The system can output the report.
Abstract:
The disclosed technology is directed towards efficiently identifying a first entity (e.g., a user or sensor) as a potential witness to an event. A first dataset describing event time data and event location data of an event are obtained from a first device. A second dataset describing device time data and device location data are obtained via a device associated with a second entity, e.g., a user. By analyzing the first and second datasets, e.g., for time and location intersection, the second entity can be identified as a potential witness to the event, and notified of such. Factors such as line of sight, speed and direction, audio sensing range versus event volume, and the like of the second entity can be used in determining whether the second entity is a likely witness. A witness to a live event can be identified and asked to send in live (e.g., video) evidence.
Abstract:
A network-connected electronic device may obtain, at a location, a notification that a network-connected sensor device at the location is activated in response to a triggering of a critical rule of the network-connected sensor device, determine whether the triggering of the critical rule of the network-connected sensor device will activate a function of the network-connected electronic device, activate the function of the network-connected electronic device in response to the determining that the triggering of the critical rule of the network-connected sensor device will activate the function of the network-connected electronic device.
Abstract:
A processing system may detect a physical location of a user via at least one mobile computing device of the user, where the user is to be authenticated for a network-based transaction, identify at least one network-connected sensor device at the physical location, and determine, from the at least one network-connected sensor device, a set of environmental conditions of an environment of the physical location. The processing system may next identify at least one action for the user to perform to interact with at least one aspect of the environment in accordance with the set of environmental conditions and transmit an instruction to the user to perform the at least one action. The processing system may then obtain sensor data from the at least one network-connected sensor device, determine, from the sensor data, that the user performed the at least one action, and authenticate the user for the network-based transaction.
