Abstract: A first virtualization control mode to be used for configuring one or more compute instances is determined. Based at least partly on the mode, preparatory configuration operations for launching a compute instance are initiated. The operations include transferring at least a portion of a machine image to a storage device accessible from a host, and initialization of a virtual network interface. A compute instance is instantiated using the machine image at the host. The compute instance is a thread of an intermediary process launched by an administrative agent at the host in response to a launch request.

Abstract: An administrative agent running at a virtualization host of a network-accessible virtualized computing service determines that a first virtual machine is to be instantiated. The agent initiates at least a first configuration operation to enable connectivity for at least a portion of network traffic associated with the first virtual machine. The first configuration operation is performed at least in part using a first virtualization offloading card of the virtualization host. The agent causes a virtualization intermediary process of the virtualization host to launch one or more execution threads of the virtualization intermediary process to implement the first virtual machine. The intermediary process may be swapped to persistent storage, e.g., based on an analysis of resources of the virtualization host.

Abstract: For a given cross-data-store transaction request at a storage service, a coordinator transmits respective voting transition requests to a plurality of log-based transaction managers (LTMs) configured for the respective data stores to which writes are directed in the transaction. The LTMs transmit responses to the coordinator based on data-store-specific conflict detection performed using contents of the voting transition requests and respective data-store-specific state transition logs. The coordinator determines a termination status of the cross-data-store transaction based on the LTMs' responses, and provides an indication of the termination status to the LTMs.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for customer-managed authentication in radio-based networks. In one embodiment, a radio-based network is managed for an organization. The radio-based network includes a radio access network and an associated core network. A request is received from the organization to configure one or more parameters affecting primary keys in the associated core network. The primary keys correspond to pre-shared keys of client devices permitted to access the radio-based network. Storage of the primary keys is customized in the associated core network based at least in part on the one or more parameters in response to the request.

In one embodiment, it is determined that a particular application executed in a user equipment (UE) device requests to send data via a wireless network connection. It is determined to switch the wireless network connection in the UE device from a CSP-operated radio-based network to a private radio-based network based at least in part on the particular application or the data to be sent by the particular application. In one embodiment, first data is sent or received via a private radio-based network using a wireless network connection in a user equipment (UE) device. It is determined to switch the wireless network connection in the UE device from the private radio-based network to a communication service provider (CSP)-operated radio-based network. The private radio-based network and the CSP-operated radio-based network utilize a cellular network standard. The wireless network connection switches from the private radio-based network to the CSP-operated radio-based network. Second data is sent or received via the CSP-operated radio-based network using the wireless network connection in the UE device.

Abstract: In response to a programmatic request, configuration information representing a multi-network-segment gateway established on behalf of a customer is stored at a networking service. In response to another programmatic request, a communication session is established between a route signaling node of the gateway and a routing information source located at a customer premise. Abstract: During a communication session established with a customer-premise routing information source, a route signaling node of a multi-network-segment gateway of a cloud provider network obtains respective sets of labeled routing information pertaining to multiple customer-side network segments of a customer. The route signaling node propagates the routing information to data plane nodes of the gateway. The data plane nodes utilize the routing information to forward data packets to destinations associated with particular customer-side network segments.
