Abstract:
There is provided a sliding film formed on a surface of a member which slides relative to another member. The sliding film includes, a metal-doped tetrahedral amorphous carbon layer; and a surface layer that is formed on top of the metal-doped tetrahedral amorphous carbon layer and has a higher coefficient of kinetic friction than the metal-doped tetrahedral amorphous carbon layer.
Abstract:
A scroll compressor which can be mounted in an automobile has a slide bearing resulting from baking onto a back metal a sliding layer of 5-60 wt % graphite having an average diameter of 5-50 μm and a graphitization degree of at least 0.6, the remainder containing a polyimide resin and/or a polyamide-imide resin. The form of the graphite has: (a) an average shape factor (YAVE) as defined of 1-4 for the particles excluding the minute particles that are no greater than 0.5 times the average diameter, and there being at least 70% by number of particles having a shape factor (Y) in the range of 1-1.5; or (b) graphite particles having a particle ratio of at least 0.5 being at least 50% of the total by number.
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein relate generally to large scale synthesis of thinned graphite and in particular, few layers of graphene sheets and graphene-graphite composites. In some embodiments, a method for producing thinned crystalline graphite from precursor crystalline graphite using wet ball milling processes is a disclosed herein. The method includes transferring crystalline graphite into a ball milling vessel that includes a grinding media. A first and a second solvent are transferred into the ball milling vessel and the ball milling vessel is rotated to cause the shearing of layers of the crystalline graphite to produce thinned crystalline graphite.
Abstract:
A cleaning blade lubricant including an acicular shape lubricant is provided. The cleaning blade lubricant is applied to a cleaning blade of an electrophotographic printing device for improving the cleaning performance of a cleaning blade of an electrophotographic printing device.
Abstract:
Forge lubrication processes are disclosed. A solid lubricant sheet is placed between a workpiece and a die in a forging apparatus. Force is applied to the workpiece with the die to plastically deform the workpiece. The solid lubricant sheet decreases the shear friction factor for the forging system and reduces the incidence of die-locking.
Abstract:
A coating of a metal sheet or strip comprising a lubricant and a protective base material is provided. The lubricant is contained in the protective base material, and the protective base material is at least in part selectively removable. There is also provided a metal sheet or strip capable of forming, in particular of superplastic forming, and having a coating according to the invention at least partially on one or on both sides of the metal sheet and a method for manufacturing a metal sheet or strip according to the invention comprising the steps of providing a metal sheet or strip capable of forming, in particular of superplastic forming, and applying a coating according to the invention.
Abstract:
A piston for internal combustion engines has a skirt coating consisting of a wear resistant inner layer consisting of a polymer matrix having ceramic particles, aramide fibers and/or carbon fibers dispersed therein and an outer layer consisting of a polymer matrix having solid lubricants dispersed therein and an outer layer consisting of a polymer matrix having solid lubricants dispersed therein.
