Abstract:
A laundry oil containing 0.02 to 2.0 weight percent 8hydroxyquinoline as an antibacterial agent and the process of laundering mops and other fabrics used to wipe dust with such oil. In a preferred aspect of the invention the mops, etc. are laundered directly with the oil. When copper is present in the laundering apparatus the laundry oil preferably contains 0.0001 to 0.5 weight percent benzotriazole.
Abstract:
A process for simultaneous cleaning and finishing of soiled textile material in which the textile is (A) exposed to a cleaning bath consisting essentially of a major amount of a textile dry cleaning solvent and minor amounts of water, and containing (1) a polyfluoroalkyl substituted stain repellent material and (2) an emulsifying agent which does not adversely influence the stain repellency of the treated textile material, and then (B) is dried.

A CLEANING FORMULA IS PRESENTED WHICH IS SUITABLE AS A PRE-SPOTTER, SPRAY-SPOTTER OR A COMBINATED SPOTTER AND DRY CLEANING AGENT DEPENDING UPON ITS CONCENTRATION. THE CONCENTRATED PRE-SPOTTER CONSISTS OF 2 PARTS OF A CHARGED TYPE DRY CLEANING DETERGENT, 1 PART OF A PAINT REMOVER MIXTURE AND 1 PART WATER. AS A SPRAY SPOTTER THE FORMULA IS DILUTED UP TO 20:1 WITH WATER. IT CAN ALSO BE MIXED WITH OTHER STAIN REMOVERS TO INCREASE THEIR EFFECTIVENESS.
