Abstract:
An automatically opening/closing apparatus for vehicle of rack-and-pinion type is reduced in size and weight. The automatically opening/closing apparatus for vehicle is automatically opened/closed, by transmitting rotation of an electric motor to a back door through a drive power transmitting mechanism comprising a pinion and a rack. The rack is supported linearly reciprocably by a slide mechanism comprising a slide block and a guide rail. The slide block is formed to be sufficiently short to the entire length of the rack and the guide rail is accordingly formed to be short. Further, the rack is provided with a groove portion, and a holding member contacting with a holding face is disposed in the groove portion. Then, an interval between the rack and the opinion is maintained by the holding member, whereby engagement of the pinion therewith is ensured.
Abstract:
A cable drive unit for opening and closing a sliding door on a vehicle (not shown) has a cup-shaped front drum having a helical front cable groove and a rear cup-shaped drum having a helical rear cable groove. The front drum is rotated about a longitudinal axis in a first direction to open the sliding door. The rear drum is partially nested in the front drum and rotated about the longitudinal axis in an opposite direction to close the sliding door. The front drum and the rear drum are drivingly connected to each other via a tension spring that biases the front drum and the rear drum in opposite directions when in tension. The front and rear drums are rotated by a concentric clutch that is nested in the rear drum. The clutch includes a drive member that is drivingly connected to the front drum via a first lost motion connection and drivingly connected to the rear drum via a second lost motion connection. The first drum has an arcuate slot forming part of the first lost motion connection, the rear drum has an arcuate slot forming part of the second lost motion connection, and the drive member has a tab that projects through both arcuate slots to form part of the first lost motion connection and part of the second lost motion connection.
Abstract:
A transmission joint with a coupling having frontal teeth (20,21) is inserted between an output shaft of a gear motor and a worm screw. A release element is associated in a radial way to the coupling so that the coupling can be manually released in an emergency. The release element includes an eccentric pin that engages the coupling element in a radial way so that the coupling element can be moved from an engagement position to a release position by being turned by a lock barrel (26) with its key.
Abstract:
A driving apparatus for a movable member of an automobile comprises a housing, a dram for driving the movable member, the dram being rotatably supported on the housing, and a clutch for selectively transmitting a driving torque to the dram, wherein the clutch is accommodated in a space of the dram.
Abstract:
A fire door control system permits user input during regular use and during alarm conditions. The system utilizes primary and secondary power sources and incorporates a variety of preventive safeguards assuring that functionality of the fire door control system will not be lost. The system utilizes primary power when possible in all alarm conditions. However, during alarm conditions when primary power is lost or when a hand crank hoist remains dangerously engaged, the system is bumplessly connected to a secondary power source and a fire door of the system is closed with the aid of a clutch that directly connects the drive input with an axle that supports the fire door. The clutch pulses on and off to control the descent of the door. The system includes an electronic controller for coordinating the operation of elements of the system and for implementing a method of controlling a fire door system.
Abstract:
A rear gate opening and closing apparatus includes a gas stay for biasing a rear gate in an opening direction, a motor for actuating to open or close the rear gate, a clutch for connecting or disconnecting the motor with the rear gate, an encoder for detecting the position of the rear gate, an operating switch for operating an opening and closing motion of the rear gate, and a control means for controlling the motor and clutch to automatically open and close the rear gate. The opening and closing speed of the rear gate is controlled based on a detection signal of the encoder.
Abstract:
A vehicle door driving system includes a driving power source for generating a driving force, a clutch mechanism adjusted to be engaged and disengaged, and controlling means for controlling the clutch mechanism to be engaged and disengaged, the controlling means controlling the driving power source to generate the driving force. The controlling means judges whether the vehicle is at a vehicle driving recognition state, and the controlling means controls the clutch mechanism to be engaged when the controlling means identifies the vehicle driving recognition state.
Abstract:
A power closure system (40) for a vehicle panel (22, 24) includes position initialization techniques that ensure accurate position initialization. According to this invention, any slack in a coupling (62) between the vehicle panel and a motor (42) for moving the vehicle panel is removed prior to obtaining an initialization position reading when the panel (22, 24) is in a closed position. The inventive arrangement also includes determining a desired torque at which to operate the motor (42) during a position initialization procedure.
Abstract:
An opening/closing system for vehicle can improve detection accuracy of rotation of an output member and enhance reliability of its operation. The opening/closing system for vehicle includes a drive unit having an electric motor and a reduction gear unit. A drum, which is an output member, is fixed to the output shaft of the drive unit through a power transmittable member. A magnet fixed to the outer periphery of a disk member is disposed between the drum and the gear case of the reduction gear unit in such a way that the magnet rotates along with the drum when the disk member is fixed to the power transmittable member. A housing case fixed to the gear case is provided with a sensor accommodating section that accommodates a magnetic sensor. The magnetic sensor is disposed to detect the rotation of the drum from a change in a magnetic field created by the magnet.
Abstract:
An actuating device includes a base part and a part which can be moved and is coupled to the base part in a manner such that it can pivot about a pivot axis. A driving device has a cable which can be wound up on a cable drum to drive the movement of the part which can be moved. The driving device has a pull/push rod which is coupled by its one end to the part which can be moved at a distance from the pivot axis and is guided movably by its second end along a guide path, which extends approximately at right angles to the pivot axis, on the base part. In this case, the second end of the pull/push rod can be pulled by a first cable to a first end of the guide path and by a second cable to a second end of the guide path.
