Abstract:
The door locking device, in particular for insulating glass doors of cold rooms, refrigeration cabinets and domestic refrigerators (1/2), uses the predetermined door systems which have a plate (3) at the lower hinge-like attachment to the door and also have a plate on the doorframe. A further plate (5) is attached, with an exact fit, to the frame plate, said further plate having, in a cylindrical formation (6), a ball (7) on which the plate of the door (3) rests in the closed state and, in the open state, locks the door, wherein the ball (7) is located in a lubricant reservoir (8).
Abstract:
There is provided an improved connecting member for use in connecting a sash support arm and a sash arm in a hinge assembly for a casement window, the connecting member having a cylindrical stud portion which extends through a sash arm cylindrical aperture and a cylindrical shaft extending from the cylindrical stud portion, the cylindrical shaft being eccentric with respect to the stud portion and extending through to a sash support arm opening, the cylindrical shaft having a recess formed therein designed to receive a tool to prevent rotational movement of the connecting member to thereby permit change of a sash support arm pivot axis.
Abstract:
A hinge and track assembly for casement windows corrects for sash sag by changing the length of one arm in a multiple lever arm system controlling the opening of the window. The length adjustment may be accomplished with an expansion joint removed from the pivot points of the arm permitting the use of a more robust design for one pivot point which may be integrally formed with the track. The arm may be retained on the integral pivot point with a spring clip fitting within the pivot and providing inwardly flexing detents.
Abstract:
A structure having a movable panel (5) has a support frame (8) having side portions (8b) slidably mounted on supports to allow sliding movement of the frame (8) between a retracted and an extended position. The movable panel (5) is mounted on the frame (8) via interengaging track means preferably comprising a track of part-circular cross-section (1) and arcuate means (2). The arcuate means (2) allow a first tilting of the movable panel (5) from a flush-fitting plane to an inclined plane on sliding movement of the frame (8) from the retracted to the extended position, and also allow a subsequent second tilting of the movable panel (5) from the inclined plane to a non-flush plane substantially parallel to the flush-fitting plane. The interengaging means (1,2) allow lateral sliding of the movable panel (5) in the non-flush plane. Thus one end of the movable panel (5) may be transferred between planes before the opposite end, enabling one person to handle large panels with ease. The need for large internal frames is obviated.
Abstract:
A pivot bearing between first and second components (10,11) each of which is formed from a metal material. The pivot bearing comprises a hollow annular boss (14) which is formed as an integral part of the first component (10) by being drawn from the base material from which the first component is formed. An opening (12) is provided in the second component (11) and the annular boss (14) is pivotally located within the opening. The free end portion (18) of the boss (14) is pressed over such that the cross-sectional area of the free end is greater than the opening (12) thereby pivotally retaining the second component (11) on the annular boss (14). A wear-resistant plastics bushing comprising a sleeve (15) and a flange (16) can be positioned within the bearing and placed under pressure by the coupling of the components to create a required level of friction within the bearing.
Abstract:
A drive mechanism for the leaf or leaves of a sliding door or the like comprises a rotatable shaft and at least one non-rotatable roller head which can be longitudinally displaced along the shaft when the shaft is rotated. The roller head comprises a plurality of rollers which are inclined to and in contact with the shaft. On rotating the shaft the roller head is displaced along the shaft due to the contact of the inclined rollers on the shaft. The lateral movement of the roller head may be transferred to the leaf of a sliding door or the like.
