Abstract:
These inventions related to systems and methods for producing, shipping, distributing, and storing hydrogen. In one embodiment, a hydrogen production and storage system includes a plurality of wind turbines for generating electrical power; a power distribution control system for distributing, and converting the electrical power from the wind turbines, a water desalination and/or purification unit which receives and purifies seawater, and an electrolyzer unit that receive electrical power from the power distribution system and purified water from the desalination units and thereby converts the water into hydrogen and oxygen. After its production, hydrogen is stored, transported, and distributed in accordance with various embodiments.
Abstract:
Vehicles, systems, and methods for delivering natural gas and providing mobile fueling services are disclosed. A method of delivering natural gas includes: delivering a source vehicle to a receiving tank for receiving natural gas at a remote refueling location, the source vehicle having a natural gas engine for driving the vehicle and a source tank disposed onboard the source vehicle for storing the natural gas; and transferring natural gas from the source vehicle to the receiving tank using pressure equalization between the source tank and the receiving tank and using a compressor disposed onboard the source vehicle. The onboard compressor is operatively connected to and powered by the source vehicle engine. The source tank is adapted to store a volume greater than or equal to about 200 DGE of natural gas and supplies natural gas to power the source vehicle engine.
Abstract:
A container for storing compressed gas includes a plurality of aligned glass capillaries extending into a tubesheet. Each of the capillaries has an open end flush with a front face of the tubesheet. An end cap having a gas outlet connectable to a compressed gas valve or conduit is fitted to the tubesheet in gas-tight fashion to form a high pressure space defined by inner surfaces of the capillaries, the front face of the tubesheet, and inner surfaces of the end cap.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to compressed gas storage units, which in certain applications may be employed in conjunction with energy storage systems. Some embodiments may comprise one or more blow-molded polymer shells, formed for example from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Embodiments of compressed gas storage units may be composite in nature, for example comprising carbon fiber filament(s) wound with a resin over a liner. A compressed gas storage unit may further include a heat exchanger element comprising a heat pipe or apparatus configured to introduce liquid directly into the storage unit for heat exchange with the compressed gas present therein.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and compact method of bottling gas (1), that can be installed in any the retail sales establishment to bottle cylinders (3) directly to the consumer, or in vehicles to bottle the cylinders (3) in the residences where they are consumed, the compact system of bottling gas (1) comprising a device for transfer of gas, from a reservoir (2) to gas cylinders (3) located in closed compartments (4), allowing the consumer a choice of quantity of gas and further eliminating the inconveniences of exchanging the cylinder (3) or its transport to remote locations for refill.
Abstract:
A support assembly mounted on the roof of a tank, comprising a support block (1), a base plate (4) between the support block (1) and the tank, and guiding brackets or rails (2) joined to a structure above the tank characterized in that each of the brackets or rails (2) comprise a face turned towards a cooperating face of the support block, the face of the bracket or rail and the cooperating face of the support block (1) are inclined at an angle, said angle depending on the width and height of the support (1).
Abstract:
A storage tank containment system including a cubic-shaped tank having an outer shell having cylindrical walls for the efficient storage and transportation of large quantities of fluid, for example, liquid and compressed natural gas.
Abstract:
A gas-tight detonation-proof container for the transport and storage of detonation-dangerous material that can be opened and closed by remote control is provided. The container, which is of the type that can be opened by separation, will also, if required, be able to be used for the active detonation of dangerous material inside the same. The detonation-proof transport container according to the invention is particularly characterized in that it is opened and closed by a locking ring disposed between the two parts of the container and is arranged such that it can be circumrotated in the parting plane. In the closed state, the locking rings holds together the two parts of the container and, for this purpose, has a double-sided multi-toothed bayonet coupling which, upon a limited circumrotation, locks in the two parts of the container.
Abstract:
An improved apparatus and method for monitoring the levels of propane or other consumable liquid in remotely located storage tanks and coordinating delivery of liquid to those tanks, including an improved method of using the remote monitoring data to identify out-of-ordinary conditions at remote tanks, optimally schedule purchases or deliveries, improve safety, and more efficiently operate a propane dealership. More accurate and timely information concerning the status of customer tanks serves to improve operational efficiencies and increase safety. Data received from remote sensors can be collected and organized so that it is easily understood and utilized through the implementation of a user interface accessible via the Internet that allows the information to be presented in an efficient graphical and contextual fashion. Operational efficiencies can also be improved by calculating site-specific Degree-days and K-factors for each tank and by taking historical propane usage for each tank, weather conditions, and projected fuel usage into account.
